Champions Cup 20/21 - Round of 16

Right outcome, weird sequence of events that lead to it though and the ECPR definitely doesn't look good coming out of this.

To be honest I don't think the integrity of the tournament is compromise yet, but one or two more and it will be. Weird way to get a win, but would be an even worse way of going out so just got to take it and move on I suppose, Pity though.

Your schoolboy French reads mercredi as Wednesday, quite rightly so, congrats!
So why did you say that EPCR were warned on Monday?
Still the EPCR should have said at the time : considering this Covid case, the match cannot take place as originally scheduled. Not give the thumb up for travelling to Dublin and maintain the Friday night fixture providing the players all test negative on Thursday, then say 5 hours before the game that some players will not be eligible, ie the whole Front row. This is at best amateurish (why not the whole team?) and maybe even less flattering.
Assuming full transparancy from Toulon, it should have been apparent to both parties that it wouldn't be safe for the close contacts to play. You may have missed my question about the requirements for isolation in French law. Shouldn't the close contacts have been at home isolating rather than flying abroad?

Because I made a mistake :)

Yes, they should. But if you were to follow the letter of the law in every country, there would be no competition whatsoever. Did all the UK teams train and respect the 6 people gathering limitation or the two household mix?
"You can exercise outdoors in a group of 6 or a larger group of any size from up to 2 households (including their support bubbles, if eligible)"
Are you sure? :D

Heinz has an instagram influencer ass on him. Respect.

Genuinely woeful defending from Gloucester.

Pretty much sums up Gloucester. Capable of scoring, but concede far too easily. 5th in terms of points scored in the premiership, but 2nd in terms of points conceded.

Scorelines flattering Gloucester a bit but they've kept in touch and are battling well. La Rochelle centres and backrow doing serious damage.

La Rochelle getting away with murder in the tackle,
So many seatbelts and shoulders missed

West there should be done for an illegal fend, arm was out.

Edit: IRT looked just as bad as Loader's.

To be fair it has been compromised since groups. Whoever wins it will never feel like it was true reflection unfortunately.

Can't fault Gloucester's effort, but it's a minor miracle they kept in touching distance - La Rochelle look real good
