Celtic Warriors

Highly unlikely. The reason they were bought by the WRU was because they no longer had the investment from the previous regimes who'd put money into both the region and the club sides. They'd have been another Dragons right now and we'd still have one too many sides for regional rugby to work.

Disagree butt! Look at the former players they had, of that squad Cooper, Horsman, Jones, Jenkins, Morgan, Parker, Sweeney and Thomas are all current Welsh Internationals (ok Alfie is an exemption)!

To me that squad looks pretty good!
  • Brent Cockbain (Lock) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2005
  • Gareth Cooper (Scrum Half) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2005
  • Mefin Davies (Hooker) - Wales International
  • Chris Horsman (Prop) - Wales International
  • Dafydd James (Wing/Centre) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2001
  • Ryan Jones (Flanker/No.8) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2005
  • Gethin Jenkins (Prop) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2005
  • Neil Jenkins (Outside-Half) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 1997 and 2001, World Record Points Scorer
  • Christian Loader (Prop) - Wales International
  • Sililo Martins (Scrum-Half) - Tonga International
  • Maama Molitika (Flanker) - Tonga International
  • Kevin Morgan (Full-back) - Wales International
  • Sonny Parker (Centre) - Wales International
  • Richard Parks (Flanker) - Wales International
  • Robert Sidoli (Lock) - Wales International
  • Ceri Sweeney (Outside-Half) - Wales International
  • Gareth Thomas (Wing/Centre/Full-back) - Wales International, British and Irish Lions 2005 (Captain 2nd and 3rd Tests)- Welsh Record Try Scorer
  • Lee Thomas (Centre/Outside-Half) - Wales Youth International
  • Gareth Wyatt (Wing) - Wales International
  • Jonathan Bryant (Centre) - Wales International

But if they didn't have the money, then the players wouldn't be there, they'd likely lose most of those players to the Ospreys or to England. The Dragons can't keep hold of their best players, it'd be the same story with the Celtic Warriors.

Additionally, some of those players have only come on and improved to such extents because of their moving on to other sides.
