Celtic League Thread 05/06

lomu has of yet havent really faced a big high quality winger since returning - i would be impressed if he gets the better of james - who is IMO a great winger.

Aye but if he wasn't Welsh you wouldn't say that
<

You only say that cause you know that you were to say otherwise I'd take the train down to Wales and kick you in the nads!

cardiff blues 13
scarlets 32

scarlets picked up bonus point today - which leaves them on 28 pts after playing 9 games

they have two games in hand on all the teams above them, if they won those two games they would be on 36 pts - one pt below munster - if they would win them two with bonus points they would leapfrog munster.

so much for people laughing that a welsh region would be challenging this year, i still think the blues will finnish strongly and in the top 5. but after this fanatstic performance against the blues i fancy them to battle it out at the top.

Too little too late at this stage of the season I'm affraid. They'll finnish above where they are know but it'll be and irish or scottish team winning the league this year.

We'll see if the Scarlets are ***le challengers this Saturday when they play Leinster, despite your affirmations that Leinster are shocking.

where is this match home or away.
if its home i would expect the scarlets to win - away may prove a bridge to far againt leinster

Sorry thought the sarcasm was a given.

Despite Loratadine's claim that Leinster are shocking he clearly hasn't watched any of our recent matches, we're showing decent form, nothing amazing but not many teams beat Ulster in Ravenhill and back it up with a win over Munster, it'll definitely be an interesting match on Saturday, more magic from the best 10 in the league and we'll be alright.

Not to mention the form centre pairing of the world and Dempsey swerving up the pitch like a thinly-haired machete, and Rob Kearney back so Dempsey never has to place kick again.

And of course Will Green, who after 78 minutes of play can still make a supporting run halfway up the pitch, stay with the pace, then take an offload.

i cant see leinster beating the scarlets at stradey - i can see it now becoming somewhat of a fortress

martin madden is a collosus and will own the opposing prop,

with dwayne peel - the best sh in the world
and the centre partneship of king and m.jwatkins
and of course the power and pace of both daffyd james and mark jones - who once again scored a mesmerising try today - quite simply the best potential winger in the world.

I think there's enough threat throughout the Leinster team to pose the Scarlets one or two problems, can't really judge whether Stradey is a fortress when they've only played 4 league games

i did actually say that i think it will now become a fortress - the fans are really getting behind the team and there playing a combination of a forward driven game and a fast fluid game - they look damm good at stradey

im going for

scarlet 26
leinster 15

Daffyd James? Pace? The man is a defensive winger. If Kearney lines up opposite him he won't have a hope.

Regan King and Watkins over BOD and Flash Gordon?

It doesn't matter if Madden (who is class BTW) owns the opposing prop because Leinster can win with a small percentage of posession. Then with about 15 minutes to go Cheika will throw on two Lions to finish the job. And the Scarlets will have been bested.

nah they will loose.

scarlets will win this won - itll be a good game but the scarlets backline is phenomenal

leinsters backline is good, but i just cant see them winning down at stradey with the scarlets now playing with confidence and panache
