Cardiff will host rugby's two European Cup finals in May 2011 after the Cardiff City Stadium was chosen for the Amlin Challenge Cup.

The Millennium Stadium, which holds 74,500, had previously been handed the Heineken Cup on Saturday, 21 May.

And now the Amlin Cup will be held 24 hours earlier at the 30,000-capacity home of current holders Cardiff Blues.

European Rugby Cup chief executive Derek McGrath promised "a memorable weekend of sporting action".

Sounds good might be worth the journey down for the heineken cup to be honest, any clue on ticket pricing for either?

Absolutely great idea, Cardiff will be absolutely buzzing that weekend and well the Amlin will sell out i'd expect.

Good luck getting a hotel room for that. I struggled on weeknights at short notice when I used to work down there, let alone when there's any sort of rugby on.

Luckily for me I have relatives down there :p Alternativly you could always stay a short train journey away if needed?

Just checked there are plenty available!
