Looks like a solid side, will match up even(and ahead of) with Canada in several positions, we also don't have as much of an advantage at FH as we have had in recent matches, with Monro and Hirayama both out.

Crowley has stated that he wants to field as good a team as possible in all three matches and that oppourtunities to get younger players experience will be a bonus objective of the tour. I'm guessing this is another reason why young guns like McCann and Paris have been placed on the U-20's squad where they will get more playing time. I'm thinking we will only see Underwood in this game if Evans get's hurt.

What is USA's James Patterson doing now. I remember he was banned for 4 months for drugs after the WC. If I remember right it wasn't his fault. He was prescribed something by the USA physician and USA rugby took the blame for his banning. Since then nothing at all about him.

He's playing for the Glendale Raptors in Colorado after failing to get a contract for 2012 in either Super or ITM cup rugby. That was a shame his suspension but the IRB did lower it quite a bit due to the circumstances, also good to see USA rugby stand up for one of their players.

I was told that he wasn´t interested in a new contract, prefering to return to the United States.

That might be the case Melhor I was just regurgitating what I'd read off of scrum.com a while ago.

Bad news on the broadcast info the game will not be televised but will be streamed, not sure whether it will be an international or domestic only stream. Streamed games have been a mixed bag for Rugby Canada, the game vs. Russia in November of 2009, went smoothly but the RWCQ game vs the States that year was a complete and utter disaster, too many people were viewing and the host could not keep up resulting in the game being a radio braodcast with visual "stills" of rugby. I even recently had problems accessing a streamed U-20's game which was the fault of the broadcaster. Couple that with my sometimes sub par ISP and I'm tempted to make the drive for this one.

Also very dissapointing as a game on TV might have encouraged a few people to go to the games the couple of weeks afterwords, I don't think Canada-Italy is selling as well as they'd like. TSN2 will be showing Canada vs. Italy but I'm not sure about Canada vs Georgia at the moment.

Is this the streaming website you guys are discussing?

http://www.coresportsnetwork.ca/

It's the one the USA rugby fan page on facebook is directing people to watch the test. (With this pic underneath the link):

Yes it is, I guess it's an international broadcast then, I hope they are ready for the traffic, during the 2009 RWCQ they were not.

that's a shame as it is a rare opportunity to see Canada play a Tier 1 team in Canada

that only really happens about twice a World Cup cycle generally

Ticket prices were far too high IMO... tickets were between $161 and 76$ if you wanted good seats... You factor in parking, a drink or two and staying overnight in toronto for some guess what you just put the game way out of range for most peoples wallets.

I am hoping that they get a lot of people show up at the gate on game day. I am in Jamaica right now and hope for god sakes the stream works as I won`t be able to catch any of the games.

I grabbed a front row seat to the left of the Italian bench for $25.00, the early bird specials were/are very good, and I think they still might be going on, I haven't heard of the tickets hitting full price yet, which is why I think the attendance is going to be low. The full prices are a bit higher but you can still pick up decent seats for the same price as I paid last year for the States game. Cheap seats are going for as low as $10.

I think the game was marketed wrong, they have been really pushing the Italian-Canadian community hard, but most Italian immigrants to Canada have come from Sicily and Southern Italy where the game is not very popular. The decision to put it on a friday night was poor as well, lot's of people such as myself will be coming in from a distance, luckily I only work for myself so I can give myself the afternoon off but it's still a big pain in the butt, especially considering Toronto has one of the worst traffic issues in the world.(Using the train myself)

Looking forward to this one, hopefully I can watch.

Hopefully it will be a typical Canada vs USA war. Shame, the IRB needs to look at restructuring the RWC pools at some point because Canada vs USA is always an entertaining game.....if you like stomping, punching, people going into rucks to hit each other than go for the ball and, my personal favorite, tackling people without the ball. I personally enjoy those games but others don't.

You'll be pleased to know that America's 1 and 2 have been placed in seperate tiers for the RWC draw Canucks there is indeed a possibility of this happening.

Edit: Not sure whether to laugh or cry, TSN2's scehdule instead of this game from 2-4 p.m. is

2:00 PM NHL Bloopers of 2011-12
2:30 PM Total Rugby
3:00 PM Canadian Sportfishing: Pike Fishing
3:30 PM Motoring 2012

What a joke, don't know whether if the decision to not show it was from their viewpoint or from Rugby Canada's end but there is absolutely no reason this game shouldn't have been on TV.

Hey don't knock the Fishing!

No idea why they chose this, makes no sense for me either. To think there was so much progress recently.

Whats up Little Guy- how're things bro?

Thsi looks like it should be a bloody entertaining game to watch. I like the way both countries approach the sport with a willingness to play an expansive game most of the time. That should be at about 8-9am NZ time, so I will get up on sunday morning to see if I can watch it live.

Where is the Canada team sheet? Is Cleeburger playing?

I honestly don't know why the IRB dosn't set up a site for live streaming of games (for a price) - apparently FIFA does this as someone was telling me they watched NZ play in the Oceania Cup (read: minnow football) for about US$2.95.
This woudl work well, and be a money spinner for the IRB

Hey Flukey, Kleeberger is out of action after having surgery, Nanyak Dala is expected to take his place...the lineup's haven't been announced yet(which is late) but I'll get them up as soon as I can. It should be a great encounter as last years game in Toronto between the two was although it was sloppy at parts. Forecasts are callling for showers or even light rain(depending on news service) and I think a sizable crowd is expected in beautiful Kingston for the game.

Last year's game in Toronto

Where's Ed?

I don't think he was available for the test due to work commitments, I'm not 100% sure but I believe he will be joining the team next week for the Italy and Georgia games. I would obviously love to see our Ed in action but I'm not too uspet at White getting a start he needs some game time.
