British & Irish Lions 2025 General News and Chat

My prediction was this would be the first tour in god knows when to have no welsh players feature in the 23 for any test but tbh now I think morgan will start at least one of them

Here's who I think will start the invitational game. I don't think any player who started on Wednesday will start.

1. Porter
2. Kelleher
3. Bealham
4. Ryan
5. Beirne
6. Pollock
7. Morgan
8. Earl
9. White
10. Farrell
11. Van der Merwe
12. Aki
13. Jones
14. Hansen
15. Smith

16. LCD
17. Schoeman
18. Stuart
19. Cummings
20. Van Der Flier
21. Curry
22. Mitchell
23. Aki or Keenan

I feel like LCD and Mitchell could also potentially start as LCD and Kelleher are in a close race and Mitchell depends on if Farrell wants to actually give White a shot at starting other than the final mid week game. The backline also depends on how injured Kinghorn is and if Farrell wants to protect Keenan. I reckon he'll protect Keenan so that will force Marcus to 15. Tbh he should have right to feel ****** off that he hasn't been given a fair crack at 10. I know it was unlikely, but Owen getting parachuted in and Kinghorn not being certain now and not having another option at 15 means Marcus won't actually start at 10 until the mid week game.

Slightly wrong. Looks like Farrell is rotating more rather than giving his bench players an opportunity. I think the front row is 3rd choice and I expected second choice. I thought Marcus or Farrell might have started, but I guess A.Farrell wants to see more of Fin. I suppose Aki did start Wednesday, but I hope it doesn't mean Aki and Ringrose in the test if Tuipolotu starts here.

I hope Tui has a good first 50-60 and is then replaced by OF with a view to preserving him for the first test. If Tui plays 80 I doubt he'll be starting in the first test.

Just read somewhere else that bizarrely Russell, Tui & Jones have only played six minutes together on this tour.
