Aviva Premiership Round 16/17 Round 13

Go lower so that you have a higher chance of a hip or knee clash

Exactly - in a head on situation, the safest tackle is one around the chest. For both players.

The "single leg underhook" that Haskell tried is also good, but much less so (as you saw) when either player is moving at any speed, because it puts the head in the way of harm.

So the commentators announce that Haskell is the best head on tackler for Wasps, he certainly proved it.

I'm with you, the directive / conversation following it shouldn't be about how the degrees of how low we can get players to go when tackling, but be about what is the ideal and correct area for the tackle in specific situations. Without any stats to speak of, it's quite clear to me that most head injuries do not arise from high tackles, even though the latter are dangerous.

Couldn't agree more.

You need to allow players the freedom to make the most appropriate tackle for the situation.

Do like Dai Young's deadpan humour.....an outstanding 35 seconds from Haskell.

His son's turning into quite a player.

Indeed. Better than Navidi imo. Unfortunately for him the likes of Moriarty offer something a bit different to what Wales already have in the backrow.
