ROCK BAND NEWS ALERT!

Rock Band has a new periphials powerhouse behind them, thats right Mad Catz are now officially licensed to make Rock Band periphials. As you can see from the pictures we have some sweet kit coming our way including:

* A wooden full size replica of the Fender Strat
* A Microphone with added buttons instead of using X360 controller
* Drum with cymbal add on's
* A Fender bass
* Gig bag and many more...

I guess after Logitech became an official third-party manufacturer of peripherals for Guitar Hero IV (is it On Tour or World Tour? I know ones the DS game and the others the new upcoming game, but couldnt they have named them something a little less confusing?), this was inevitable.

That being said, I had heard that Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero and Rock Revolution peripherals will all work with each other. It sounds far too much like common sense to be true, but I hope...

The Band one is Guitar Hero: World Tour

Stuff Magazine have had an exclusive first play off it...

It will have a new Guitar which will have a special touch pad, so you can be creative in the Guitar solos...

Also it will include a feature to record your own songs using the instruments...

And also a new level for beginner where the player can strum along, hum to sing and hit the drums in the correct rhythm making it easier for anyone to pick up and play...

I was watching a video on youtube of Guitar Hero WT and the music creation looked really complex and not really something for the casual gamer.

I might end up with a copy one day but I'm sticking to Rock Band 1 and 2 for now, the setlist looks awesome despite a few WTF's! in there for Rock Band 2.

Some old school DLC this week...

Duran Duran
Rio - 160 MS
Girls on film - 160 MS

Devo
Girl U Want - 160 MS
Through being cool - 160 MS

The Janitors
Get your rock on - 80 MS

Get your tracks this tuesday on XBL or on PSN Thursday.

from what I understand it will depend on what console you have. I can't remember which but its either 360 or ps3 where they won't be interchangeable.

Your can use the GH controllers on Rock Band but you cannot use the Rock Band controller on GH.

Lame mistake by Activision to be honest, it might have increased sales for GH but instead of bonding with Harmonix and letting GH users switch to the Fender if they felt like it...Activision has put pressure on the musical rythmn audience.

But, then again...having said that..Sony PS3 will have the interchangeable option.

But then again, I wouldn's play Guitar Hero with either the Les Paul, X-plorer or the Fender...I have moved onto bigger and better things...

I.e Rock Band.

Here is some cool new info about the RB2 store...oh boy its expansive...!!!!

It was only a matter of time really, although its good news if I DO use this feature it will be with RB and GH, have you seen the state of rock revolution?

It is poor, and thats an overstatement...well last time I looked it was anyway.

Rock Revolution = FAIL

How Rock Band - Rock Band 2 functionality will work:
  • When Rock Band 2 is released, an update will be released for the original which adds an "Export" option.
  • Upon selecting this option you will be prompted to input a password, which will then be supplied to Rock Band 2.
  • Then you will pay. Money. Harmonix say this will cost a maximum of $5.
  • Once paid for, the Rock Band songs will remain on your hard drive and be playable in presumably both.
Yes, they want you to pay for something youve already paid for. Are you really that surprised?

Harmonix are not worried about GH:WT, despite GH including a pretty complex and fun free music creation tool. Harmonix admitted they will be releasing one in the near future but didn;t want to rush one out as RB2 is scheduled for a September release. Read up!

And here is the Rock Band 2 set-list in full for those that haven't had a glimpse yet, it looks ever so sweet...read on.
