A Political Thread pt. 2

Best to ignore, he's a typical boring keyboard warrior who has so little going on his life he has to come online and argue with people he's never met. Said on another tread he's apparently a former gangster drug dealer who turned his life around blah blah blah. Probably spends his time listening to Joe Rogan and getting angry with women
Hahaha

This is a disgusting post, you should be ashamed of yourself!

I posted on a thread of how I got into rugby, that when I was a child I fell into a life of crime and dealing in south wales, but was saved by rugby, or more specifically a positive peer relationships dad who dragged me out of it kicking and screaming using rugby.

Are you proud of using this information to denigrate my opinions online? Feel real strong about it?

Embarrassing tbh, but listen, if you think I'm a keyboard warrior let's get together for a pint and a chat?

Even then, Trump is proving that you can't trust the medium-long term of American policy.
They can have a broadly consistent policy for 80 years, and reverse it in 80 days.
I'm a bit concerned about us for that reason. We're not there yet, but come the next election, it's going to get very messy as Labour (imo) will fail to solve or make a dent in the issues that badly need addressing.

I live in Coventry. Anytime you want

Just watching Moonraker and it always astounded me why the space loving megalomaniac Drax didn't just shoot 007 everytime he had the chance and instead always tried to kill him in some overly convoluted way but then I got to thinking about another space loving megalomaniac with a four letter surname and wondered how he would have handled 007 and can see the script writers were way ahead of their time.

"Jaws put him in the Tesla and wait until it explodes"

Mush up to his old tricks again, this time to buy the Wisconsin state supreme court.

Red state, Texas, desperately trying to delay a congressional election to protect the republican margin in Congress.

Hahaha

Are you in belief that Trump is a dictator? Or is he following Democratic party policy, in which at least 2 maybe 3 tried to run against the 22nd amendment?
can you post links re that? cant find anything other than basically this...people saying they know it happened, and mainly only recently to justify Trump trying

I'd have to go looking, quick Google search kind of confirms it but there are some caveats to both in reality.

Firstly Truman dropped out after losing the primary, attempting a 3rd term, his approval rating was rock bottom and he never stood a chance he was however arguably grandfathered in, as the 22nd took hold during his presidency. So although he tried and failed kind of, technically he was allowed.

Johnson wanted a 3rd but again, was not popular and dropped out. The caveat is that he didn't get elected first up, he was vice until stepping in after a few years, so didn't have a full first term.

Obamas made a number of comments on it, in 2015 he made the argument that not only could he win a 3rd, there are a few constitutional arguments he could make in favour of it. He also joked in 2019 he would love to be a back seat president, sitting in his basement in sweats puppeteering a figure head, which let's be honest probably wasn't that far from the truth knowing 80% of Bidens backroom staff were Obamas, and the state of Bodens cognitive decline.

My point is not to justify Trump's comments, he say 5 things a week to enrage and rile people up, and takes 3 actions aweek also, he's a bell end given almost carte blanche currently. I can dislike him, but also recognise why he came to power again, and take a nuanced look at what he says and does.

Common sense is lost with Trump lol.

Truman and Johnsons first terms were because the incumbent President died and they took over at VPs so only technically ran once meaning they could run a second time.

Oh I was enjoying that and he was so close to creating a concise narrative, but he overlooked a few little things (or maybe ignored them on purpose).

Biden has talked tough on big tech a few times, when politically convenient, in reality he stuffed his staff with tech employees and lobbyists, and Kamala herself was basically implicit in the FB purchase of insta and WhatsApp lol.
Biden was incredibly soft on big tech, except for Musk who he started a war with for no apparent reason. Zuckerberg has stated publicly he colluded with Bidens government during COVID, and that he was threatened into suppressing the Hunter laptop story.

Trump on the other hand has threatened zuckerberg with imprisonment if he meddled with an election again.

Bezos is a life long Democrat, financially supported them and didn't Obama give Amazon a 10 billion CIA contract?

With all this in mind, does it make sense that Trump is an agent of the 3 tech bros, when all 3 have profited massively from Democrat policies, including dodgy anti competition takeovers, and even the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor to the billionaires between 2020 and 2023. Even Musk has a long feud history with Trump and has voted Dem forever, whether you believe the switch came about at being snubbed from an EV conference at the whitehouse or not, Musk seemingly saw the writing on the wallaround ear gate time.
I really don't think 2 of these would have had any issue with Kamala, they know her, they worked with her, and they would have cosy'd up with her happily.

With all this in mind, it's safe to say, these 3 guys aren't string pulling Trump looking for an avenue in the back door, because 2 of the 3 have already entered through the back door, slipped on mums nightgown and given dad a handy shandy under the quilt.

So the theory loses credibility with me there, but he certainly is correct about data being an issue, and these 3 guys being major problems. They are leaches, and I find it annoying now when they have been promoted for decades by Dems and the left (yes I'll include myself in that previously) that they are only now being painted as evil bond villains now they are leaning into a Republican government, when in reality they've all been evil bond villains for decades!!!

Watching little old lady's go from telling people electric cars and Teslas are going to change the world, to keying Tesla cars because the owner is affiliated with the wrong politician is wild to me.

Politicians are scumbags, these 3, and a number of others saw the writing on the wall when Kamala stepped up, and after Trump got shot (ish, depends which theory you believe) Musk went full Trump train, Zuckerberg started wining and dining him, and Bezos fresh off the back of pillaging the Obama and Biden terms of 100s of billions of dollars, even decided not to have his beloved post endorse any candidate. These leaches knew what was coming, and the risk of opposing Trump was greater than the risk of... well there was no risk on the other side.

230 needs repealing IMO, but I'm not that up to date on it, maybe I'm swayed by my hatred for social media. Trump made a small run at it late in his first term, threatening defence spending if it didn't get repealed. I thinknit was Wired who wrote an article on it called Trump vs Trump. They highlight perfectly the way his words weren't backed by real action, with his trade deals using 230.

Ultimately, every opposition party accuses the government of big tech cosying, and they're right, these leaches always get what they want from every government, but to relate this back to the video...

Trump's scattergun strategy isn't 4D chess IMO, I always find it funny that those who hate Trump call him both a moron AND an evil genius at the same time. Trump's been let off the reigns, I think the instance that proves Trump's mindset the best is an action not by him but by his creepy son Baron.

As he's shaking hands with Biden he seemed to say 'it's on now' or 'it's time now'. Either way it appears to be a gloat (may be 100% wrong tbf) and you just knew Trump had nothing to lose.

I think Trump is like a kid in a sweet shop, he wants to do a bit of everything, he doesn't care what the media say or does anymore, he's got those he want in place and he's looking (dangerously IMO) to rubber stamp his name into the history books. I genuinely think his reputation as a global peace maker in his first term has got to him as he tries to prove it again and again, and becomes the 1st president to blah blah blah this time.
