A Political Thread pt. 2

Europe is a continent, not a single nation.

Why should Trump accept that? He is not there to advocate or secure deals for Europe's nations. In this scenario he should first and foremost, secure and advocate the best for America. It's like hiring a lawyer. You hire the one that is going to represent and fight for you, not the one that is nicest or going to step aside for others.
If you are going to rape a country's resources then divide equally according to money sent.

Trump can't acknowledge anyone else other than himself and the US. If you listen to him only the US has done anything for the Ukraine.

Let's not forget his lies about NATO contributions. American military spending includes pensions, family medical etc. (btw in case you hadn't worked it out yet, medical insurance IS a tax albeit a voluntary one) other countries such as the UK don't includes these as part of their military budget

But then - they did that last time out as well.
Obviously, it'll be worse this time - especially as the Supreme Court has said that the president can go as far as ordering the assassination of rivals without breaking the law...
FTR: I'm not suggesting that he'll authorise assassinations - but he'll ban media he dislikes from press briefings (again), and quite possibly give a nod and a wink to his mob for beating up journalists and opponents (again, but this will be worse). He kinda already has by removing security details for his political enemies (eg Pompeo, Bolton, Fauci et al)

Always remember these two quotes from the campaign trail
"we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be."
Kevin Roberts - lead author of Project 2025

"Four more years, you know what? It'll be fixed, it'll be fine, you won't have to vote any more"
Donald Trump - President of the USA

He was relatively nice about Starmer which surprised me tbh.

"I like him a lot, he's doing a great job" etc, etc.

Still it's all with a pinch of salt, as the guy speaks with forked tongue having just shafted everyone on steel. Plus it's like a wolf praising a rabbit for having nice fur.
He's was nice to Starmer because of Greenland. There was a treaty signed in the 1800s that stated should Greenland ever be sold then Great Britain gets first refusal.

True story

I'd buy that if there was any evidence to support Trump respects process, and treaties or conventions.

Not sure he's being nice in the hope we give him second dibs on Greenland.

So it seems that Reeves wasn't being truthful with how long she worked at the bank of England. I'm so frustrated with Labour right now, all they needed to do was not make basic fuckups and they can't seem to even do that. Multiple ministers now being caught out for lying or dubious connections, MPs being kicked out of the party for poor behaviour, targeting pensioners winter fuel payments as one of their first acts...

Are these guys absolutely clueless about how to not give a bad impression? These are things the majority of people in this country can manage but Labour just keep ******* up over and over on really basic stuff.

They are still an improvement on how the Tories acted but Jesus Christ the current calibre of politicians are atrocious.

BBC News - Europe caught out by Trump's Russia move

I'm amazed how, after all that's happened, Europe's leaders still seem to be as naive, feeble and indecisive as ever. It's like nobody is learning anything and these leaders still want to delude themselves that we live in a world where everyone plays nice.
