I know it's just Jonathan Pie ranting but I think there is a fair bit of sense here. The right have gone full blown lunatic but the left have a LOT to answer for by pandering to an every smaller minority and trying to impose vast guilt trips on everyone else.
Real concerns have been ignored for too long, easily dismissed as racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist etc etc and the far right populists have leapt on that resentment and exploited it. If the left want to drag the world back to normality, they need to get back to the very basic principle of trying to make the lives of as many people as possible better, rather than the lives of a tiny minority better. This isn't to say minority rights need to be ignored, they do still need work done but it shouldn't be at the forefront appearing to override everything else.

Listening to the news agents USA they said one of the ads that really hit for Trump was ......Harris is for They, Them. Trump is for you.
Of course it's not true. Trump is for himself and those that pander to him. But the pod identified that middle America and those in rust belt areas really did feel the Dems weren't interested in them or making there lives better.
As well as holding Trump to account the Dems need to start preparing for who comes next.

Biden and Harris clearly decided that a smooth and orderly transition was essential this time around in order to show respect to the constitution and restore faith in the process after what happened four years ago.
I can't recall Trump expressing any gratitude or words of appreciation yesterday. Yes Biden was a weak President with a lot of **** happening under his watch but he did show a lot of courtesy during the transition. Trump just has zero class as do the chumps who hang on his every word.
As for Musk, he's just so weird and awkward on stage. It's going to be glorious when their relationship breaks down.

Apart from Biden pardoning his family yesterday for crimes they might have committed. Like with his son when he promised not to. Any respect for the constitution and faith in the process in America is long gone.
It a collection of very wealthy individuals and families. Using the system and laws to do what's best for them.

Pardoning people (family, capitol rioters or whoever) is just a complete farce unless someone was wrongly convicted by a rogue system which shouldn't be the case in countries like America. Even then cases should be very rare. It completely undermines the justice system and sets a really bad example.

I get that. Pre-emptive blank issue pardons just seems wrong. Biden had four years to try and change the system. Instead he used that system to do things he said he wouldn't do.
Justice is meant to be blind, equal and fare to all.
I just think the whole system is f@#cked when you can get away with crimes regardless of if you've committed them or yet been caught. Simply because of who your dad is, or what side you are on etc. A luxury most people who come under the eye of the justice system will never have and that's not a functioning justice system at all.

Pardoning people is constitutional but I guess you're saying that's why you have little respect for it which is fair. But it's not unconstitutional like, I dunno, say leading an insurrection to overturn the results of a legitimate election is for example.
I disagree with this argument I've not seen a single left governement/opposition not trying to make things better for everyone and focus on minorities solely.
It's a perception issue not an actual one.
They are rarely at the forefront of thier playbook but are are at forefront of their enemies who weaponise it against them.
Honestly it's a **** position you only have to see Trumps rolling back of affirmative action and legally being trans to see the other are extremely wrong. (I know some people are against affirmative action but ultimately it's about people being seen rather than ignored through unconscious bias).
As to the Biden pardons its all about the witch hilunt with no evidence.
1500 people who definitely committed and crime to overthrow a democratically elected governemrnt are now free though so lets focus on Biden protecting him family.

One of the most abhorrent things about yesterday (and not just yesterday because he's done it before) was Trump referring to the 1500 as hostages. To give them the same label as the Israeli hostages (alive and dead) who were innocent of any crimes and have been through hell these past 15 months was utterly appalling and yet his base lap it up. On the bright side we're one day closer to the end of his term.

I get why Biden did it as a father and family man. Yet is it ok for Trump to do it if he fears what the Dems might do in the future? To protect his family.
I fully expect Trump will do the same for his family. It's far more likely historic things come to light after the fact. He will cite witch hunts, weaponised justice system etc As he has done before. Yet there is absolutely nothing can be done to stop him. No matter how much evidence they have.
The same for the Biden family. You can have all the evidence in the world a crime was committed and it doesn't matter
The fact you can protect people from ever facing justice and the system allows it. That America has come to this is plain awful.
