You have to wonder if the majority of people that want to be cabinet ministers are so self-absorbed they cannot process that maybe, just maybe, having ties to dubious X, Y or Z will only end up coming back to haunt. Usually fairly quickly.

Well, Republicans have decided to politicise yet another natural disaster to hit a blue state and are threatening to withhold all federal aid for California unless the debt ceiling (that thing they threatened to shut the government down over multiple times) is completely removed...

Seriously, there is no "both sides are as bad as each other" here, these people are straight up shameless, hypocritical *****. The fact that the FIRST THING they think to do when a natural disaster strikes a blue state is to hold it to ransom is sickening. This happened during Trump's last presidency too and I think everyone remembers the pathetic response to Katrina (back when Republicans at least had some semblance of normality). In contrast when Republican states have been hit by disasters, Democrats have instantly offered aid with no conditions.

Likewise in this country the Tories are utilising the grooming and rape of underage girls to score political points. To those on the right, we are not as bad as each other, YOU are the ones acting like absolute *****.

I am reminded of what was often said of Muslims after 9/11, if the moderates aren't speaking out against the extremists, that can be taken as they on some level approve of it. Well the same needs to apply to the right now. If moderates on the right are not willing to denounce the actions of the extremists, maybe we should assume they approve of it. I have zero time now for anyone who claims to be right wing and is silent on this bullshit now, this stuff has gone on long enough. The far right are tearing liberal democracies all across the world apart. Here, the USA, South Korea, Germany, it's ALL far right agitators.

The days of right wing Presidents or Prime Ministers being a leader to represent all (even those who didn't vote for them) are gone.

If you didn't vote for them then you either get punished like California is now or at best overlooked for any capital investment projects that will boost growth.

When they're in opposition their job is no longer to hold the Government to account but rather to kill bills, sow division, fear and hate with a view to destabilising them and basically ******* up the country so that they can get back in power again.

America is on track to become an isolationist state with no friends other than Putin and Netanyahu.

Whilst Israel didn't achieve all it's aims, there is no denying they were the ones on top through the whole thing.

Sometimes saying less or nothing at all is better. Simply talking about stopping to bring an end to the suffering etc etc.

At the moment they are saying the fact they haven't been completely obliterated and were able to carry out a mass murder is victory.

Trump taking credit for the ceasefire and then saying it better be done before he takes his oath. What does that even mean?

Not too optimistic about any ceasefire. Hopefully the last 15 months puts a microscope on Israel and Gaza and the West Bank are allowed basic human freedoms in the years to come, but I can't see it happening before a repeat in the next 10-15 years.

Because the only war they're concerned about is the propaganda war which, to be fair, they have absolutely obliterated Isreal on. From their point of view, they've won that and they're not all dead and it's not like they give 2 fucks about Palestine or Palestinians dying so I can see how they would think it's a win. Regroup and go again in a year or 2 would be my guess
