Supposedly it's to make the shape of an XWhy does Musk do that weird jump with his arms in the air after walking on stage. He's like the school nerd trying to be cool af but failing spectacularly.
Fury as £2 bus fare cap faces axe in Budget - meaning some face £10 rise
Rachel Reeves is poised to scrap the nationwide £2 bus far cap, meaning some parts of the country could see rises of over £10 per journey. It has sparked a huge backlashwww.mirror.co.uk
Hate this, we should be doing everything we can to increase public transport use
When was the last time anyone got a rise above inflation?I heard one economist say that the employer NI rise will likely result in lower pay rises next year.

Lower pay rises are just employers looking for excuses. Smaller business can be a bit more hand to mouth. But most people work for large businesses raking in profits.
Private sector, not in my experience. Even with high performance thanks to Truss/Johnson I didn't get above inflation for the past 3 years. And with mid to high performance it didn't happen once in 15 years. Not sure if that was rhetorical or if you're referring to the public sector. Happens all the time in the private sector. Many companies give pay rises or bonuses based on company performance (profit) and employee performance. If Er NIC is up then the whole employee renumeration pot gets squeezed.
If you believe the hype things will get better.
The fact we've got a party in government who are just a lighter shade of blue shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
I do get that. I'm just disappointed with politics in general. What with the freebies stuff by Mp's and the PM. A budget that's likely to hit working people dispite this line of it's not Vat, national insurance etc. Unfortunately given the last few years lots of people would struggle with tax rises..
I don't have a problem paying a bit more tax given the state of the country. But there better had be a tangible improvement in public services over the next few years otherwise they won't be getting my vote at the next election. I also don't expect to see any dodgy contracts being handed out given Starmer's promise to clean up politics and have a Government focussed on service to the people.
11 million really isn't a lot in a 40 billion problem. Scrap one large project. My employer (public sector) has to find a 11 million in savings over the next three years
It's a lot when you are at the bottom of the barrell already after having to save 13 million over the last five years. Local government has been cut to the bone as it is. Proposed cuts include CCTV, public toilets, grounds maintenance etc. Once you take out statutory duties, the government's house building targets and so on. There really isn't much left to cut.Reality is Blair inherited a good economic situation, Starmer has not.
Its gonna be a mix of tax rises, changes to borrowing rules to allow more (and how much), some savings being made and investment made elsewhere. The real question is how that is gonna sieve out.

This is why it's better to wait until actual policy is released. Not scrapped but to be increased to £3 from next year.
Bus fares to rise to £3 in England under new cap
The new limit replaces the existing £2 cap but some have criticised the decision.www.bbc.co.uk
Aid fears as Israel bans UN Palestinian refugee agency
Israel passes two laws which Western governments fear could have devastating consequences for civilians in the Gaza Strip.www.bbc.co.uk
If ever there was a doubt about Israel supposedly being the "good guys"... They are a bunch of shits too. Now to see if the Biden admin will go through with their promise to stop military aid to Israel. Israel definitely timed this to try to influence the election in the USA.
