From what I've read it costs £25 a year to be a conservative member. Not a lot of money but still probably not a lot of casual members. Stark contrast to the United States where you just register.

I'm amazed you can be a member of a political party without being a registered voter or even a British citizen with the right to vote. Maybe I should have known but that is just outrageous. Possibly might be ok if being a registered voter was required but how the help can it be democratic if people not eligible to vote can choose who becomes prime minister. I thought the whole process before was bad, but this just takes the ****.

I've gone from disbelief, to making jokes to just plain furious.

Jokes include that this is levelling down not up and that Liz Truss is secretly a Lib Dem still and it's a long term plan to bring down the Tories.

Honestly, poorer regions getting less. How the **** is that meant to improve services. Tbh I actually think it's going to be tested, shown not to work and then it just becomes a bribe for the Tory voters that she doesn't have to follow through with.

The first thing both Theresa May and BoJo did when they became PM was to meet with the First Ministers of the other home nations in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast as a show of their support for the union. Is Truss planning to travel to Edinburgh and then ignore Sturgeon?! What a fecking idiot she is!
