A Political Thread pt. 2

He has a MANDATE. All you fools who think he should resign just aren't listening to the people.

Just don't listen to the people now, just listen to the people from 2 years ago.

Polling says 68% of people want him gone, over 50% of both Conservative and Leave voters at the last election.

seriously tune in to the liaison committee if you are working from home. The questions are amazing, the responses are amazing; one of the best improv shows I've ever seen.

quick transcribing so it may not be 100% from a Bryant bloke

"He [Pincher] took liberties cause you took liberties, he knew that he could get away with things . . . you would need a psychological change to continue"

Recently in last 24 hours promoted to chancellor in that list is really ******* hilarious its like a Monty Python skit.

BJ: We have a culture of alcohol abuse.
LC: Have you done anything to help people with alcohol abuse?
BJ: That's the job of the chief whip.
LC: So you are making people with substance abuse issues report those issues to people who hold their careers in their hand?
BJ: Do you have a better idea?
LC: Will you admit that you let Pincher down as a friend?
BJ: Kind of

LC: So you are saying that alcohol is the reason there are sexual assaults, but you aren't willing to do anything to help those with substance abuse issues, and continue to appoint those people into positions of power?
BJ: no no no no nothing of the sort

at the end he said he the last things the nation needs are him stepping down or another election

Just watched it all live. My abiding thought, repeatedly, was Bill Hicks doing his bit on the trial of the cops responsible for instigating the LA riots. "Courtoom murmurs "Jesus, what balls! I've never seen balls of this magnitude before. I mean, he must have to carry his balls around in a wheelbarrow."

I guess I'm just so used to American approval ratings where you get 30% for just being breathing.
Oh a Tory PM should be able to manage that but he can't do that. Its just hard in the UK to find anyone who isn't a minister who'd openly admit to it.

Honestly absolutely insane he's clinging on.....like truly insane.

I really can't fathom what Johnson thinks he's going to get out of this, he's only cementing his position as one of the worse post war PMs this country has seen, and certainly the most morally bankrupt. Short of hoping for a Trumpian mob that definitely will not be forming, there is nothing left but his pitiful decline. Many PMs do talks and speeches after leaving, who is going to want to invite this clown?

Even ignoring senior cabinet members. If he refuses, how many will will find some scruples and also resign?

Surreal 24 hours in the life of Nadhim Zahawi. Appointed Chancellor by PM, tells PM to resign. Not exactly gratitude.

Threatening that is the only thing that can remove him, shy of changing the rules, or voting for no confidence in the government as a whole.
But that requires party donors to turn against him, not MPs or party members / activists.
