A Political Thread pt. 2

I'm not sure it's the match itself that's the problem as much people getting there and back, and under current rules, crowding into pubs and eateries.
Yes, that is part and parcel of attending the matches. Any part of it where peeps are in close proximity in a congregate setting. Back to the point about aerosols. If you can smell the garlic on someone’s breath then you’ve probably inhaled aerosols from their lungs. Hence the use of masks. But how many do you see at the matches?

I have never voted Conservative. It is not where my politics lie. But Boris is the only thing standing between the UK and calamity until the next election. Boris has always been a cretin. I remember long before he was in power arguing about Scottish independence that the 'risk' of independence must be weighed against the 'risk'of having your affairs controlled by a buffoon like Boris.

A healthy media would have been slamming Boris for years for his utterances about Turks, dribbling incoherence and fantasy. So why all the hate now? Why is the press, including the Daily Mail for crying out loud, having a pop at a Tory PM that they told everyone to vote for? It is nothing to do with competence.

'Lord' Frost's resignation tells you everything you need to know. Boris is not considered Tory enough. He is not pursuing the policy of social inequality enough. Frost cited the following as the grounds for his resignation, all of which are contrary to spiralling wealth inequality and reducing regulations that protect trivial things like workers rights and public health:

- obsession with climate
- too many (Covid) restrictions on personal freedoms
- taxes too high
- too willing to stay at the negotiating table with the EU

This is literally a tick box of the 4 main issues that those pursuing social inequality have been ramming down our throat in the media for years. They all misread Boris as a hopeless oaf who would do the bidding of the billionaires. Instead he is a hopeless oaf who is comparatively respectful of Covid after his own experience, is fluent in French and brought hire bikes to London (and thus has at least some, albeit very basic notion, that letting the climate spiral out of control probably isn't the best).

Boris being replaced by someone who is intent on falling out with our neighbours, slashing taxes for the wealthy during a financial crash and record debts, letting Covid run free and taking all steps to accelerate man made climate change is not something anyone should be wanting. Which is probably why there is a decent chance it'll happen in 2022 and we'll get Beelzebub Gove as PM. As predicted by Nostradamus no doubt.

The interview with Gordon Brown was pretty good, highlighting the importance of a worldwide pandemic response.

Snow is great and its going to be weird not knowing he's doing the news he started on Channel4 in 1989 and having begun on ITN in 1973 he must be the last newscaster whom I can remember being part of the news since I brain cells started those memories.

Can anyone stop themselves ******* themselves from laughing that Liz Truss is emerging as the frontrunner to replace Johnson?
I'm sure she'll be laughing all the way to another majority in fairness.

Honestly tho she is just May 2.0, she'd be a bit of stability and less drama than Boris at least

Unlike May she doesn't have a lengthy period in a cabinet position that went relatively well (for her politics). Her track record on what she believes politically is completely confused.

She also is rubbish at public speaking and hasn't done anything impressive in the jobs she has done.

Just can't belive anyone takes her seriously. Which is why I laugh.
