IDK I think the players need to understand it also.
Pre Covid the agents seemed to act like money was growing on trees, and the problem was some of these clubs would massive inflate the prices by agreeing with the terms
 
Yeah, Watson and Genge campaigning for bigger salaries during COVID was incredibly tone deaf

It's a tough one because remove the sugar daddies and there's what, one? two? clubs that can sustain themselves (and barely)
Salaries would drop massively, players would leave - the whole ecosystem would change drastically

It's France and Japan that are the issue - especially as their 2nd divisions are now paying enough to beat a lot of prem contracts
 
And certainly for France - the reason that they're the problem is that got their acts together in 2017 when awarded the RWC23, and did things right, and collaboratively to grow the game from the top down.
