3 year residency raised again

I 100% agree, although I think Gareth Anscombe - who as far as I am aware has never even been to Wales - perhaps playing for Wales in a RWC next year is equally as much of a joke.

Yup i agree Nick...like Maitland wasnt it who had never visited Scotland.

P.S. Have an issue with players qualifying to play for a nation on residential grounds e.g. the two South African locks signed by the Ospreys and Scarlets. Slightly ok with Anscombe because he has Welsh parentage.

Yes this thread again....dont you think its an important matter?

You mean Steenkamp...

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/rugby-union/29151343

But the part that REALLY bothers me is

"South African lock De Kock Steenkamp has set his sights on playing for Wales after signing for Ospreys.

As part of the recent £60m deal between the Welsh Rugby Union and four regions, each region can have up to eight overseas players but two must be "time-serving" for international duty."

So they are openly saying they should have project players if they are bringing foreigners in......

Thats not a good read. .

that's better than having foreign players who aren't qualified for Wales.

Surely it's better that if a position is being given to an overseas player that player should be eligible for Wales long term, otherwise it's just money down the drain in relation to the Welsh Team.
