2nd Test: South Africa v Lions

Maybe, but I'd have liked to know how they told the best lock on tour why he isn't in the 22. I agree with all the other changes thouogh.

Ahhh there is nothing experimental about it. They got absolutely hammered up front in the first 40 mins last week. It was in all aspects of the game not just the set piece so they had to make those changes in the pack. Shaw has made a decent impression in his games so why not, its not as if any of the others have been standing out. Maybe its a case of the best option from a bad lot (including O'Connell in that assessment).

Kearney is in cause Byrne is not fit and Fitzgerald was the logical choice once they decided to remove Monye from the wing slot. I still think its a bit harsh on Monye but it was always a close run thing.

I dont have any complaints about the team. I think its the best they could select but I dont think they have a chance in hell of turning it round on Saturday.

hadn't noticed that Moyne had been dropped completely. Very harsh in my opinion.[/b]
You'd assume that Bowe will cover centre, and Fitzgerald will take fullback. Williams is the more flexible winger to cover either wing. + He can do something very special when the game breaks up. Chances are he'll just run into a blind alley and get turned over, but if were in trouble and the game opens up like it did last weekend, I know who I'd prefer to be coming on.

Yeah - agreed. Moyne isn't Williams in the loose[/b]

Lions will literally waste themselves for revenge

While Boks will try hard to keep their first result

So very good match awaiting

Yeah cant believe Ellis is on the bench. Still gives me a shudder to think he is even on tour. Is Blair injured? Suffering from leprosy?

Gatland comes out with another clanger saying that they were against reactive changes.

Monye dropped off the 22
Vickery dropped off the 22
Mears Dropped off the 22

Looks pretty reactive to me.

Or from Ovarian Cancer?

For me personally the best team hey could have picked. Incase nobody has been watching Shaw has been sneaking up on a starting position the whole tour. Definitely the best lock in the last couple of games and they will need his bulk in the first half.

I tell ya.......... The Lions are looking to contain the Bok's forwards in the first 30mins. if it works, they have a chance. if not it will be +30 points this time around

The reason Ellis is on tour? Leicester if he played for any other club (ok maybe not Wasps) he woldnt be in the tour party Especially considering that Care is a better scrum half than Ellis anyway.

Perfect team apart from:

Ross Ford. God forbid Rees' throwing going awry this weekend. Then again, Mears' was terrible last weekend, so it's again a case of picking the best of a terrible bunch.

And here's to hoping Ellis doesn't leave the bench. Forever and ever, Amen.

I now think we are going to win. I reckin the Lions will come out roaring (see what I did there?) and in the end comfortably win by 14 points.

Then again, I thought the same four years ago and we got thumped, and I'm pretty sure I thought the same the time before in Australia after the first test win.

The Lions are now going for their 7th straight test defeat. I have to be right sometime.
