[2025 Six Nations] Ireland vs England - 01/02/25

Well if you don't want him any more, can you loan Snyman to Bristol please? He'll have a buddy there to help him settle in after all. đź‘€

I believe I specified players without a sniff of a trophy. We get close enough to smell but not touch them!

Out of interest, can Borthwick break anymore unwanted records this 6nations? Or are they already in his name?

May catch tomorrow, but reliving my youth instead

Never lost to Italy

ETA: TBH though - how many unwanted (6N) records does he have? Largest loss to France presumably, certainly not to Ireland, Scotland or Wales

He may pick up one against France. England have never lost at home to France consecutively at twickenham since the 6 nations was formed.

Could do the same with Scotland too. But if Scotland win in a few weeks time, that will be 3 losses at home in a row (one with Jones)

"Since the 2019 RWC Final, England have had more defence coaches than prime ministers, and that's saying something" is a hilarious, and mildly ironic line in Matt Williams' column today ***led "Ireland must avoid arrogance and pay England the respect they deserve".

There doesn't seem to be an overly positive vibe from England fans going into this game, and a fair amount of criticism of SB, but to be fair the odds are always stacked against England when we play away to Ireland. We've only beaten them 3 times at the Aviva since it opened in 2011, so this is always a game that takes some winning. Looking at the team selected I am not sure a better one could have been selected, especially given the block on lads playing abroad not being eligible (a conversation for another time). It will take something special for England to turn Ireland over tomorrow, but it is far from impossible. Most are calling it as being close, and if it is close come the end of the game, even if England lose, I think that's still showing progress. Of course they would then have to turn France over at HQ the following week otherwise serious questions would need to be asked. We cannot remain the "almost had it" NH team. Looking forward to the game. Really hoping its a dry, cardless contest, with the best both teams have to offer on display.

I'm sure there were a few stats based ones that he ticked off,
Least tries scored in a tournament, least points scored in a tournament kind of ones - can't remember anything specific though
