[2025 Six Nations] France vs Wales - 31/01/25

Never going to be the cricket score some talked about but 7 tries to nil is still a hell of a walloping. Fra will get better, Wal look pretty nailed on for another whitewash.

Given that France started an 'unfit' Atonio in their starting 15, Rhys Carre would offer us some carrying grunt that we're despiratly lacking. But Gat's basically drove him out of Wales!
Gats never to be fair, Cardiff did. He re signed for Cardiff, before leaving again. I agree Carre is prob the best welsh ball carriers, but ahead of Gareth Tgomas?!

The scary thing is, Wales played far closer to the best of their ability than France - especially in the second half, when France were just showing off, and not bothered about whether it paid off or not.

Carre has openly said that his continued snubs for Wales and public humiliation by Gats was a big reason in him leaving. Saracens obviously thought lots of him, as they re-signed aa soon as they could, and he starts for them regularly.

Not much to write about there. France showed their level in the 2nd quarter and coasted the 2nd half. Emptying the bench early showed the mindset for this game was to get a hit out before the bigger focus next week.

Don't think I have much to add about Wales. A litany of problems and a lot to fix.

Better rugby to come tomorrow hopefully.

Because in the last 2 years, Lloyd, Costelow, Cai Evans had all proved not worthy of international rugby. Desperation is king
Sorry, but any actual 10 would be better than a player who doesn't play 10! It's not rocket science, but is clearly too much for Gats, despite already trying it before! Dan Evans, Anscombe, Jarrod Evans, O'Brien, & Lloyd would all be better options as they actually play 10 regularly.

It's completely unfair on Thomas as well, and we'll have another ruined player before long to add to the growing list Gatland is responsible for.

I had France down for a 50 point win….almost right there !
Glad Wales got rid of Ntamack for us though. That might help….a bit 😕

Is it really a coaching problem? I'm not convinced. You mostly have a bunch of players with little to no international experience who ply their trade in incompetent clubs
Clearly a coaching issue, compounded by poor selection and 'some' poor players in 'some' positions.

There's a middle ground between a 43-0 drubbing and winning grand slams/championships, and that is competing by being a cohesive, well drilled side rhay does the basics well and has shape and gameplan in both attack and defense. That doesn't need world class players, it needs good coaching and a buy in from everyone.

No doubt we would habe still lost to this French side, who were coasting for most of the match, but they should have been made to work for it!

We already know that Sexton and Farrell had to take over the attack from Howley on the NZ lions tour, and yet he's back as attack coach for Wales, betting scandal and all! That's on Gats, no one else! Unbelievable.

france by 42, they'll start glory boying (as they should) in the 50th

I got the exchange rate mixed up but the thought was right
