I see Coombes as a bit of a start or doesn't play type of guy for our game plan. His biggest weakness is that he's slow for a backrow, our backrows anyway, and he doesn't have the same breakdown skillset POM has. He can't enhance the pace of play off the bench or be a constant turnover threat for 80mins and I think that's what Faz wants in Conan and POM when used as bench options.

The other worry Coombes was told is while power game will work in club game. That power may not be as effective in international levels.

I'm actually quite relieved he hasn't played in awhile, we're down enough world class players to be a bit vulnerable away from home. I just don't think Italy quite have the cohesion to do it yet and their pack will need to raise their game beyond what we've seen also.
