[2022 Six Nations] Ireland vs Wales (05/02/22)

I don't know what it was about the autumn but I'm not too excited by it in the sense that it's a platform to take us to a championship.

I think we're dead set for 3rd place in this tournament unless England are really bad. We're still very reliant on Sexton to be properly world class, now he's the best 10 in the comp bar none when fully fit but he hadn't got more than 120mins in the tank across consecutive weekends. As I said before, our left wing is a huge part of the gameplan and missing a big boot and powerful strike runner there will be difficult and this makes our centres more limited as a result.

I think it's telling that people are calling this championship wide open, the seemingly two best teams are France and Ireland who are definitely the two sides whose best and worst performances across a tournament tend to have the highest variance. (France just tend to be more spectacular)

Our pack is probably the tournament's strongest but for us to win a slam or championship they're going to have to totally dominate 4 or 5 games with the two likely to be the most difficult both away from home. It'll be very very tough.
Best 10 in the comp? That's a bold statement as he now is not even close to Russell, he a safe pair of hands yes but a flair player he has never been. With the change in rules to enable more space, his time is done.

Did Adams just deliberately take Sexton out?

He changes direction that has to be a card just for ******* intent.

The ridiculous thing is that Wales had advantage so if Sexton got it then they would just go back.

It's probably a pen as he was going for the ball and he did turn into Sexton. But feel a yellow is a little harsh but there we are.

Good decision, thats so lucky that wasnt a couple of inch higher or thats a red and a big ban

And surprise surprise 13 goes off and a wing 9s in achers of space to score

Crazy how tough a lot of people are.

Some of our handling has been great. People make fun of the loop but we run it so well and have so many variations and options of it that it's a nightmare to defend.

Time for Ireland to bring on Carbery?

I would. Wales are done
