[2022 Six Nations] Ireland vs Wales (05/02/22)

Really want to like Hansen but can't get past him being a winger in a scrumcap

I generally think backs with scrum caps are rubbish, though there are a few exceptions i.e. Cheslin Kolbe. I note Am improved as a player when he got rid of the scrum cap.

Lots of plaudits for Irish defence, however, I think it's more Wales have very little shape, pattern or attacking plan. Very easy to defend when trying to play wide without building phases to make space.
Very true but almost all of Wales carries have been neutral or negative, it's pretty hard to get any shape or momentum off that.

Why is Elias allowed dummy three times as part of his throwing motion? Like it hasn't matter so far but still.

"A bundle of green and red mess"

Like sneezing with a nosebleed.

Ireland attack seems to go blunt once they get into the 22.

Wales have improved in defence. Ireland looked a bit lost in that last passage.

Put it out there now scoreline reversal of that game in wales pre World Cup when Ireland were scoreless until the final play

Yeah agree. They don't look confident in how they are using pods or forward attacking patterns at all, where as you can see what Ireland are trying to do in attack and they are finding space by pick and go, small pods and then playing the wrap around.

Never thought id say this, but Zammit is clearly injured, so I'd put Adams on wing and bring Watkin on for the shape of the backline. It's really not ideal but the Adams experiment is not working. His best bit of play was when he was on the wing.

Conway really has developed into a quality international player

Think that score might do it. if Wales had scored first or kept it to 10-0 until later then they could have pinched something. Now they will need to play riskier to win and that will play into Ireland's hands.

Think it's time to get LRZ off, move Adams out to wing and get on Sheedy at this point and chuck it about/get people in system. Nothing to lose at this point.

Honestly. Irish 6 completely dived off his feet form an offside position then, no pen advantage.
