[2022 Six Nations] England vs Wales (26/02/22)

.

This has to be a wind up and I'm going to keep convincing myself of that while also preparing to get angry in case it isn't.

The delay in announcing the team bothers me. Either trying something left field or sweating on injury. Why else?

Did the same when Farrell keeled over in the Autumn its just EJ being EJ.
OK, although EJ being EJ isn't the most reassuring phrase in the English language.

What are the competition rules on announcing teams?

The nerves are rising, although I will be disappointed if we lose tomorrow.

Lose and we'll lose the rest of the games this 6 nations and I suspect Eddie will have to go

Every cloud….

They can't get rid of him so close to the RWC anyway.

I don't understand this too close to the World Cup. In 2014 Aus were dreadful and got rid of their coach. Cheikh came in and took them to the 2015 World Cup final and won the Rugby Championship?

Enjoy the game. I'll pop in after the loss to moan about Cuthbert and the inevitable stitch up referee decision that cost us the game.
I actually hate how poor Wales have been and their under dog tag, all that they require to find that one performance, however it being at Twickenham will hopefully be enough.

Watching this one in the pub with my dad and my uncle (who'll be supporting England, you corrupt that first generation fast!)

Hoping for a Waoes win. Always want England on a losing run.

Wales are +13 on the handicap with the bookies. I think that's an excuse to print money. We never beat Wales in the 6N by more than 13 points. The last 4 meetings at Twickers we've won by 11,4,6 and 3 points respectively. Wales having got that win v Scotland will be a lot more confident and they'll be a lot more competitive than they were in Dublin. I think England will win by maybe 8 points but would it shock me if Wales won?, no it wouldn't.

In all the discussions about replacing Tuilagi I haven't seen Leicester's Dan Kelly being mentioned, which surprises me. He was exceptionally effective with Ireland u20s a couple of years ago, and anytime I've watched Leicester this year he's been one of their best players. He's very physical in defence and attack, runs great lines and seems to have very good hands. I hadn't realised he had already got an England cap but was surprised he wasn't at least in the conversation about a Manu type centre.
