[2022 Six Nations] England vs Ireland (12/03/22)

Imagine outplaying a team and losing by 17. That's tough. Nice of England to give Sexton the dream Twickers send off.
So you're happy with Irish performance? I'm neutral and had England had 15 on the pitch and played like that it would've been a different story

Ireland made hard work of it. If the red card had happened later, Say after 20minutes, Maybe it would have been a different result. Atmosphere sounded amazing.

Embarrassing from the crowd when sexton walked off the pitch,

Where were the pints of ****? Batteries? Pound coins?
English sports fans have a reputation to uphold dammit
As a proud Phillydelphian I am truly disappointed. I learned from a young age that even if you're in the VIP seats you need to abuse the other team no matter who they are.

Are you one of the ones that pelted Santa Claus with snowballs? :D

Could of been far different with 15 v 15, but then again if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle! Right result in the end. Our lads kept trying but ultimately Ewells cost us the test. Hopefully the last time we will see him in a England shirt again. He got a red for Bath for doing the same thing, and clearly cannot learn and thus cannot be trusted.

Fantastic effort by England, they should be proud of their performance. Score line definitely flatters Ireland. However, we still look poor in attack. Not completely toothless, but completely lacking consistency. Any breaks that are made don't remotely look like being converted into a try at the moment.

Ewels should be done in an England shirt.

Really have to look at Eddie in charge of this tournament. Massive effort today but simple factor is the attack has been totally inept. 7 tries but 5 came against Italy who were poor defensively. Inept attacking but has kept pretty much the same backline the whole way through the tournament. Nowell was brilliant today but just isn't an international finisher anymore and Malins has been poor out wide and is much more of a 15. Also why insist on Ewels when pretty much 99% wouldn't even have him the squad or even starting at a poor Bath side. We are desperate for specialised wingers and a proper carry into contact centre because Daly and Marchant haven't had a good tournament either.

17 point win in Twickenham? Yeah I'll take it! England supposedly dominated but didn't score a try. We put up 4. They were quite good and opportunistic, I credit them for how well they hung in there, but it was ultimately a product of set piece dominance and very little else. Is the win tarnished by a red card? Not really, I'm sure it spoiled the contest for neutrals but I don't care. Our pack were outplayed but we also thoroughly outplayed the English backs and dug in when we had to. We also played the better rugby when we actually kept the ball. We can 'shoulda woulda coulda' about a 15 man contest all we like, but at the end of the day who knows. Don't want to play with 14, don't make stupid tackles.

Think that's a bit harsh on Marchant.

Distinct lack of pace,
Marchant the only real gas in the backline and he looked more dangerous than anyone else in our side on the carry
I'd look at replacing Malins - I was really hot on him after the autumn but he's had a poor Six Nations

Hard luck. England lost a bit of momentum in that last quarter when they lost the line out.

We'll never know what a XV Vs XV result would have been, everyone seemed to step it up a gear due to the red card.

Still too many players out of position, worked well for Nowell but we're crying out for a proper winger.....

Eddie Jones is the handbreak on England. He has so much at his disposal, yet he has wasted over 2 years between world cups, cannot get a cogent game plan, cannot get consistancy in selection, insists on chopping and changing, and I truly think is not good enough to lead this country. If we persist with him we will not win the summer tour, the next 6 nations nor the world cup...so where is the harm now of offloading him as quickly as possible with a pay check in his pocket and a boot print on his backside as he leaves the door?
