Hypothetical here I suppose: when Doris comes back do you replace CJ? I think a Beirne, Connors, Doris backrow could be really excellent. They are probably amongst the best three offloading forwards in Ireland as well.

I prefer the Doris style of 8 but I'd imagine Farrell would prefer to drop Beirne in that scenario. A fully fit Doris is already one of the first names on the team sheet for me.

Tangentially related but I'm now salivating at the prospect of this pack we could theoretically see in the next few years:

3. Furlong
4. Ahern

7. Hodnett
8. Doris

Every single one of them a ball carrying threat who also has the skills to throw the pass in behind or an offload.
