[2021 Six Nations] Ireland vs France (14/02/21)

French ruckers just lying on the ruck.

And LeRoux just tried to trip JGP there.

The fawning and drooling over France from commentators and pundits is now getting really boring. Sure, they're a good side, but do we have to have this ridiculously over-the-top 'everything they do is incredible' nonsense?

Tp be fair Earls and Lowe haven't been awful. Ross Byrne wouldn't be a major improvement
Byrne just has a touch more class, don't know if it would change much but Burns isn't working.

Either way we need a guy to create something out of nothing and that's Larmour rather than Earls, who's been ok. Lowe has been our best player I reckon, Porter and second rows going well too.

Yeah but they're having to watch the same tosh from all the other side's we all are. It's that or talking about AWJ god of the 2nd row.

Is fitness still considered a work on for the French? If so perhaps just staying within a score might enable Ireland to pop it in the last quarter.

Whatever about backing your players which I can admire in Farrell there's no point backing players with no longer term or even medium term future with Ireland. I do think JGP is the bigger problem right now Burns' time in the ball is halved because JGP is putting his passes everywhere but his hands.

... was hoping 'nuclear' would be a bit more... um, nuclear ;)

Nope this French side are actually pretty good.

Fair comment. I'm on record as saying Byrne is the better bread and butter 10 kicking and doing basics. But is that what we need.
Agreed on Porter. Strength is scary and 2nd row flying it. Beirne though is most improved player and form guy over past few months. Larmour in my opinion is not in form and has question marks. Agree we do need to create a spark and yes throw him in to see but just think he's lost alot over last year or 2. Again Earls is late in career so no issues replacing him

This is it. He is slower than Murray I think there.

Normie Welsh get out of my thread REEEEEEE.

Ahem. I'd leave Byrne on eventually as he will take his kicks at least which we will need to chase this game.

Think to learn is lads like Sexton really need to be phased out. And Earls. We are not at level to win so use year to develop. Guys like Casey, Byrne and even droft to Coombes, Baird and others. Do the French way and give these guys a year or 2 accept some rocky patches and then benefit. Fact Sexton is 35 and we have no clear backup is very poor reflection. Hard to slam Farrell for that. Schmidt shpuld be slated for this but being fair he did groom Joey and he broke, was stripped of Paddy Jackson and well wasn't really given much else
