[2019 Six Nations] Wales vs England (23/02/2019)

Scotland will want to play a far more open game as they will not match us in the physical department, both. England and the welsh teams must be resting some aching bodies this AM.

Genge coming on for just 3 minutes was pathetic. Ludicrous decision to leave Moon out there that long.

Also Harry Williams shown why Coley should still be considered at least 2nd choice TH.

Still raging at that second half, chucked that away big time.

Wales to be the worst Grand Slam winning side ever?

Ych. To start with, Wales haven't won the Grand Slam. Two VERY tough games up ahead, and if Wales win both, then it's just as deserved as every other Grandslam winning side before them.

I heard the same rubbish about "the worst Grandslam team ever blah blah blah" after 2008 and 2012 (wouldn't be shocked if someone spouted it in 2005 and all), and it's just boring.

Let's be honest until Wales have played Ireland which is the last game talks of Grand Slams are a bit premature. They'll have the potential to win it but until they've won it's in the unlikely column.

It was different for England going into this match as the final two games were Scotland and Italy so it would take a major upset.

Honestly think 3 way tie with England on top due to 4 winning bonus points.

Bookies still have England as strong favourites for champo. Murrayfield is no guarantee for Wales either, especially if Scotland get a few returning players.

Ha ha ha! This post! This actual post!

It is something that comes with Welsh Grandslams (not to say we will win one this year, we still have two tough games) but time and time again it is trotted out.

Me personally, I'll take a rubbish grand slam every year, rather a glorious one every 16 years... and with their resources, they should be ashamed of themselves :(

Opposition fans putting down grand slams is unique to no one.

We were lucky v France last year and had Stockdale not got that intercept v Wales etc... England only won in 2016 because everyone else was shite, same was probably used for Wales in 08. France in 2010 was only because of the Lions.

It shows just what an achievement they are more than anything else.

Is it even a Grand Slam if people don't call you the worst Grand Slam winners ever? Literally someone says it every time anyone wins one. They're hard. You can't do it without something going your way at some point, and you can't win it without sometimes playing shite and finding a way to scrape a win. Just like every other competitive tournament in every sport.

Maybe it's just a cultural thing... Ireland don't boo kickers, Wales don't deride grand slams... and the English are just unfathomably arrogant ;)

Any GS is impressive, there are harder slams than others. For example if England won it this year going to Dublin and Cardiff is more worthy with the current state of sides than if we did it next year.

Of course a true testimate is back to back GS. But thats never happened in the 6 nations and a couple of time before. Anyone who manages is worthy on any accolades bestowed upon them.

It's not unfashionable to be fair, English arrogance is fundamentally rooted in common sense

Oh by the amount of people sporting it I would say it's highly 'fashionable'.

... but what I was actually implying by unfathomable (and as more of a joke than anything serious I might add), was not that it was difficult to comprehend but just that it is 'deep' rooted... so 'deep' in fact that you couldn't put a fathom to it.
