[2019 Six Nations] Wales vs England (23/02/2019)

I saw EJ's press conference- what struck me was how supremely confident he was - and I had forgotten that he has never lost to Wales which is monkey that Gatland will be desperate to get off his back. Still England have had a few car crashes in Cardiff and I can remember the 2013 game when we got massacred at the Alamo.
I think we all know the massive importance of this game - if England win the GS beckons but more importantly we would have beaten the Number 2 and 4 ranked sides away from home . And both Ireland and Wales are very good sides and the confidence boost carried into the WC will be huge.

Aaand to the surprise of absolutely nobody, roofgate has kicked off again, because apparently wanting to keep the roof open on a mild day is proof of how scared England are and the 2 year shitstorm being kicked off across the Severn is apparently proof that the Welsh don't actually care about the roof.

It really is getting ridiculous, the Principality stadium hosts many games with the roof open but it's only when England come that they decide to make an issue of it.

Genuinely the only fuss about the roof I've seen so far has come from English people.

Might be because I avoid WalesOnline to protect my sanity though...

Talking up your Newport traffic like you're all that. We're from LONDON bruv
Having gone to university in Kingston I can tell you a thing or two about traffic near Richmond and Twickenham.

It basically boils down to DONT DRIVE

Still give Gatland grade D for bantz so far this year.

Yeah as sporting put-downs go "Ooh you don't wanna do that, you might get STUCK IN TRAFFIC" is hardly "...because every time I **** your wife your wife she gives me a biscuit!" Is it?

For Wales to take this I think they will have to come out very hard in attack from the off and hope to catch England cold. Manage to get 10 points on the board early and England will be under pressure to respond. Brute force however is not going to get that job done and Wales will need real guile in attack otherwise they will find themselves walking into hard hits from the likes of Lawes, Manu, Curry and only going backwards. So far I've seen little from this Welsh team that would suggest they possess said Guile but maybe they've been saving it all for England.
Hmm, agree with some of that Gatland has picked Anscombe not Bigger so that suggests to me that Wales are going to attack from the whistle, As for Guile most welsh players grew up with it, but Gatland has put it to one side and prefers overpowering teams at the tackle/breakdown, But as you say may not work with this England side, May the best winger in the world, hmmm he has had an armchair ride so far, Wales will attack him try to turn him, put doubt in his mind and Johny May not be considered the best in the world.:(

Well this is a weird "my traffics worse than your traffic" **** measuring contest! Can't say I predicted that as the pre-match banter...

Brynglas tunnel traffic at rush hour is a b*tch though - obviously doesn't have the same sheer numbers as you Laaandaaan geezers but massively needs funding to get it up to scratch for the numbers coming through it...

Just take the damn thing off entirely and stick it on Snowden. Is there any other Rugby stadium with a roof?

Yupp - that one in NZ that Mike mentioned, plus:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docklands_Stadium - think the first "indoor" international was played here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_La_Défense_Arena - I love this stadium, it's mental.

I think the other side of this is Ben Youngs is definitely one of the best Box Kickers in the world between him, Smith and Genia.
