[2019 Six Nations] Ireland vs England (02/02/2019)

I'll take that at the half but we really need to up it. This game is really showing how important Kearney is to our game plan.

Great game so far fair play to England should probably have a better lead but very pleasing for 16 vs 15

England have shocking discipline. Even if you think the ref is riding you which amazingly seems to happen every match England or an English club play where they lose or it's a close match there's been plenty of boneheaded moves by English players. It's a bit boring having 50 English comments saying how **** the ref is and not actually mentioning anything about how the teams are playing.

If Ireland can't stand the big hits they clearly aren't the side they're meant to be. You can clearly see the ref is having a mare. Even when questioning the Irish try he lets the conversion go, that's idiotic. You talk about England but fail to mention the things Ireland are doing wrong too ie the constant blocking which was happening before Itoje jumped anyway.

Right very happy with that first half performance. England finally looking like a complete team. Ireland not playing badly either, but think they were a bit surprised by England's intensity. Winning the aerial and kicking battle is definitely one of the big differences. I expect Ireland to come back firing after half time, so we need to keep up this performance and keep getting points on the board. Subs might be the difference here.

People were happy to slate Larmour after the Argentina but he was much more comfortable than Henshaw and he can attack beyond crash ball.

Good half of rugby that. Fairplay to England, they've been up against the ref a bit (as well as a great Ireland side) and have come out of the half with a lead and momentum. Schmidt's decision to play Henshaw at 15 is looking like one of the worst of his career.

Expecting Ireland to come out strong in the second half... and still think they'll get the home victory but as I said, kudos to England.

We appear to be playing some reasonably smart rugby.

Long way to go, but our bench carries plenty of ooomph.

Alway like the two playmakers to be split as it gives much more width and also hold the outside defence from rushing up. With the double, it gives the defence the opportunity to rush up and block off the wide channels.

Sarries do it with the fullback and fly half.

Lol watching the replay of the Irish try how was that a world apart from the England disallowed try, surely should have been at least put under the microscope like the England one...

Why does Clive Woodward get air time? I find him extremely dull and always appears full of himself

Have to say the most telling thing has been our linespeed. We've been onside but hitting them back constantly. Ireland aren't getting that far ball in hand.

When u manage a team to their own World Cup success maybe you can have some game time

Often at this point we've given a few offside penalties away, so that's refreshing. However I think our attacking play has been more varied than in previous games. It's stopping the Irish countering us effectively.

****, I thought it would be over by now ... I wasn't prepared for a tense second half. The agony of hope. Here we go
