2016 Olympic Games, Rio

Why didn't KJT run for JEH? Either set the pace for the first 500m or run with the Belgian. Once again, Brits happy in defeat.

Yeesh, I don't think he did it on purpose.
He was talking to the guy then the photographers came over to take a photo of him
Just an amusing coincidence

Edit:
These wrestling style intros coming out of a tunnel with a curtain at the end are a bit...weird.
Also English Gardner is a hell of a name

JEH gets the silver - needed to win by about 10s in the 800 and won by maybe 5/6.
Actually from all news reports I get the impression he has a bit of antagonistic personality. Hence going up to the coach and saying look mate he quite clearly dropped his hand behind (how the coach didn't see it I don't know). So it wouldn't surprise me of he did it deliberately once the photographers came.

Mo just superb

Jessica well Tiam appeared to have the tournament of her life massive results in Javelin and High Jump.

Dunno why the complaints about celebrating and Olympic medal. Greg look like he was going to get nothing and Jess had to produce the run of her life to win she has also hinted at retirement apparently so 2nd isn't too bad. Sometimes you get beaten by people who perform put of their skins like Rutherford did 4 years ago. No point in being a sore loser about it.

Sounds like Rutherford not really happy with his result. Which suggests the celebrating may have been a bit of wind up.

Also yeah all day all the Super Saturday was gash. One it focused only on the athletic success of 4 years ago not the other 3 golds we picked up that day that made it special. Also the BBC tried to make it sound like sure things when Mo's the only one whose been imperious over the intervening time...all pretty embarassing.

.
Nah, they showed a repeat of it later. He looked really unhappy, then they stuck a camera in his face so he put on a big fake smile, then went back to upset after. I really do think it was just unfortunate timing it was in front of the USA coach

I agree with that. Dont think it was gloating, the American coach should be annoyed with nobody but his athlete who made the error. From what Ive read and heard from Greg he was just dissapointed with his personal performances, from the 2 fouls in qualifying to jumps that were good but he knows he can and has jumped further.

Erm, mainly because it's an individual sport and doesn't work like that!

Just because JEH didn't go around looking like she wanted to punch someone doesn't mean she's happy. Beneath the polite exterior that one has a core of steel.

Also JEH is quicker at the 800m than KJT, KJT couldnt have run for her short of barging the Belgian out of the way and nobody would have praised that.

The Belgian deserved the gold

With us getting a Gold and Silver in the mens Sprints we are only 2 golds away from drawing with the Chinese (Hopfully they don't get a gold today).

Would be pretty big achievement considering it is week 2.

Good chances for Rose in not-a-sport and Murray in tennis; Whitlock on the floor wouldn't be an upset either.

Incidentally; we got 2 golds on Day 9 in London; and we're currently ahead on the medal tracker (total medals - behind on the gold standard).

Also Pommel Horse Final today we could pick up a gold there.

We're also only behind in one gold now. My only worry is I don't know particularly where we're picking up the golds beyond the velodrome now. Daley might manage one I suppose.

It's like Hingis is the fat kid at school whom the teacher had to make the other girls let join in.
The ball goes in her general direction, only by mistake, or the very last possibility. That pairing is just so lopsided.

Max Whitlock one person away from gold on floor.
