This was already a Cheetahs team that had been pilfered a bit by other unions, with them resting their last remaining big guns I don't see this as anything else than a big margin for the Chiefs.
It will be interesting to see if the Chiefs use this opportunity to rest players as well.

It should be a big win to the Chiefs, with the prospect of a bonus point if they play their cards right. But probably won't be silly about it either. Their scrum is awful, and they have a few injuries mounting up. I didn't watch their game against the Sharks because it sounded like garbage. Given all that, I'm guessing they won't give too many guys a rest. Could be wrong though.

Chiefs face Blues next week, then have the bye. If they rack up some serious points they could overtake the Hurricanes. Looking at the Chiefs season, they have about three matches that will truly test them I reckon. Two against the Hurricanes and one against the Crusaders. I would back them against the Highlanders and Bulls. But for the rest of those weeks it's mostly teams like the Blues, Cheetahs, Reds, Force, Rebels, etc.

I have no clue who any of the starting Cheetahs front row are. This almost feels worse than a CC line-up. That said if Brussow can have a good game it automatically puts the Cheetahs in with a shout if the backline can contain the Chiefs running threats. Big 'if' though.

The Chiefs are normally pretty poor against the Australian teams, particularly the Reds. Those are very much banana skin games too.

Yes, I think Cruden has already been rested for one of the two games he has to have off ... SBW is in the selection mix as he's recovered from concussion. I know the Canes plan to rest their AB's in some of the non-NZ games, so the Chiefs might plan to do the same

Five (possibly Six) changes to the Chiefs http://www.radiosport.co.nz/sport-news/rugby/five-changes-for-chiefs/

Entire Front row has been replaced, James Lowe is being rested, and Tom Marshall takes his place on the wing, SBW returns to the midfield, and Ngatai is bracketed with Tamanivula for the other midfield spot

That's a scary midfield. Tamanivalu has had a few matches now, hopefully this is the one where he makes his mark.

Disappointed Ngatai is out though, I need him in my fantasy team with Savea being rested! At least he'll he back next week, by the sounds of it.

Wow! Is there an echo in here! :D ... seriously though, I agree that's a big mid field, hopefully they'll be full of running, and won't get the dropsies

... as for your Fantasy team woes ... what can I say, your loss is my gain :D

Haha the forum crapped out on me. I actually posted something highlighting how the Chiefs will have used six different starting midfield combos by the end of this round.

Gutted the Chiefs aren't giving Gear more of a go...Tom Marshall on the wing? FFS.

I guess the downside of going to the Chiefs was always ridiculous amounts of rotation.

God, Joubert is such a pedant when it comes to the Chiefs but he's being completely lenient for the Cheetahs.

I hate Joubert.

That should have been ruled a forward pass (or a penalty?). The scorer gave the ball away to the man behind him then took it back after the Chiefs outsmarted them

Jesus Cane smashed that guy seriously blindsided him!

Joubert is getting a few things wrong here. But the Chiefs are just trying to be to cheeky with him and its going to get them in big big trouble.

The Chiefs forwards are nowhere near good enough to win this comp, well the pack thats on the field atm anyway they are missing a couple of good players.

There you go another yellow totally deserved and I hope the Cheetahs keep doing this until the entire Chiefs pack is off the field!

Christ I cant believe the Cheetas winger didnt score there pretty poor effort really dunno weather Mckenzie was really good at hurding him in a certain direction and making the tackle or weather the Cheetas wing is just ****.

Yup, I thought the same thing. They'll get a bonus point win, but you won't get away with conceding that many penalties against a better side. I guess having Retallick back won't fix it, but it should make quite a difference.

Graham went right through the middle of that maul and still got penalised!

Amazing the difference a different attitude after an obvious talking to from the coach at half time makes!

The coaches wont be able to save the Cheifs every week though!

Yeah, one of those Cheetahs tries shouldn't have been allowed (the rolling maul). But most of the Chiefs penalties were their own fault imo.

I'd be a little strict if it were me. I don't believe that opposition players should be allowed to get in cheap shoves and jabs and trash talk when a player from the other team is sin binned. If they're gonna be smart arses then the penalty can be reversed.
