[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 3: Ireland vs. Argentina (18/10/2015)

Great game so far, but bloody hell the Irish are getting a little boring with their incessant GaryOwens...

Utter rubbish call there if he hadn't already received a yellow he'd have been off.

Do you reckon that deserved a penalty at all? I couldn't see a single thing wrong with it

It should have been a red really, and Irish fans are gonna feel probably rightly aggrieved if they lose, but I think it would have been a fairly "light" reason to effectively kill the game. From a neutral perspective, I'm glad it didn't happen.

Garces said he needs to be 100% that there were no arms and TMO said that he used his left arm and that it was just a penalty?
I know he's explained it but I don't have to agree. I think it's a clear shoulder charge and the use of the left arm was incidental.

I'm very impressed by Ireland's fight a lot of teams would have given up down 20-3

Argentina just losing it here. Too many mistakes, too many penalties.

If that was a "should have been a red" situation we should all ****ing quit and just play soccer.

I think the end result was right as his left arm was certainly used if a split second after contact was made with his head. I reckon it was 50/50 call as to yellow but penalty was probably right call.

I think j'nuh is referring to the fact had he got yellow he'd have a got a red for double yellow.

Ireland coming back from 17 down to three points behind. It's showing great heart.

If Argentina don't find that intensity they had in the first quarter, then they are going out. They look scared to run the moves they were running first half at the moment.

It's not even remotely in the same galaxy as a shoulder charge... It's a straight attempt at a clean out in a crowded ruck. You seen thousands of them every week and no one raises an eye brow. Pedantic in the extreme for it even to be a penalty; and a poorly justified one at that

Now that was a penalty as the Argentinian deliberately knocked on Murray's pass............

Have to say if Ireland win this one its pretty impressive for any side to come back from 17 down against any tier 1 opposition. If they manage to not have hiccup of the start against other sides they'll be very tough to beat.

A bit messy to be conclusive as a "deliberate" knock down.

As for the high tackle - a bit rough when the Argentine player is falling to shin height

Doubt Australia would be overly troubled by either of these teams.

That was a long advantage for a knock on... usually it's one ruck and that's it.

All getting a little bit scrappy now. Lots of little errors creeping in. I feel there may be a mistake soon that will lead to a try.

We have to beat Scotland yet ;). We've had a solid year under Cheika, but as a Wallabies fan I'm taking nothing for granted.
