[2015 RWC] Pool B: South Africa vs. Japan (19/09/2015)

Where does that put the world rankings now? Surely Japan got a shed load of points.. And what were the odds at the start of this game?! Someone could have made a small fortune on this game!

My local weren't even taking bets on the win, it was only bets like 'will SA win by 45pts'.

Guaranteed there will be some bloke in the paper next week who bet on japan winning for a laugh and now has a small fortune lol

You do know he was French!! Are you really goading the SA's??

PS I agree though!!!!

Honestly Tony I'm not goading the Saffers (for a change)
I am gobsmacked, I just never thought that result was possible. I'm in shock, I can only imagine how the saffers feel.
If that was my AB's losing to the Japs, in that manner (those last three scrums were utterly audacious) I wouldn't come out again until we had made it safely out of the group, and if we didn't Then I'd hide myself for a good few months.
Honestly, that was a monumental upset in any sporting code anywhere in the world.
I take my hairpiece off to the Japs and flick my flaky scalp in their direction, they were undeniable, unquenchable and the spirit and resolve they showed was immense.
I have never seen such a scared look on the faces of the Boks in the dying few minutes of a game.
The horror of the moment was tangible.
There are moments when sport transcends theatre and that was one of the few gems, I am eternally grateful it was not my beloved AB's.
I can't bring myself to goad the saffers at all, I'm too sh*t scared deep inside about that happening to us.
I don't have a coping mechanism for an upset defeat to the order of that magnitude.

I know one thing. I really wouldn't want to play SA next. They will be insane.

In saying that every RWC 1 big team fails to show up. South Africa could possibly be that team

aye they'll be out prove a point mind you Samoa aren't going to roll over either.

Very true. The Samoans physicality won't be such a big issue for the Boks. I just think they'll have to find much of the fire that Japan had today. Stopping SA when they on a mission is probably one of the scariest tasks in world rugby (in my opinion).

Great picture come up on my facebook feed shows proper rugby fans.

Japan needs to host the next RWC no matter what now! Make it happen! This is great for the game of rugby, an unimaginable result. Take a bow Eddie Jones and Japan.

As a Bok fan I'm in utter disbelief. The game was at like at 2am here in Aussie, so I was expecting to wake up and watch the highlights of us monstering Japan. What I watched instead was... how can I describe it other than the biggest upset in rugby history. Glad I didn't watch it live, I'd be in hospital. I either would of gone crazy or had a heart attack.

Jokes, shock and embarrassment aside. Well done Japan, f***ing well done.
