[2015 RWC] Pool A: England vs. Uruguay (10/10/2015)

I'm confident that we can win this and really show all those other well-established Rugby nations with their fancy quarter-final places and competence how mighty England truly are.

Agree - let's really send a MESSAGE to the other rugby nations by winning this convincingly - 12 - 3, I think.

Uruguay scored two tries last night . I think the England's tactics sheets have gone out of the window and burgess and Barrett are preparing to be called up to a starting slot!

Perhaps England should consider swapping out a couple of backs and bringing in forwards in their place to counter the Uruguay threat?

George Ford looks too small to me, he could be exposed by the high ball and indeed some of the bigger Uruguay players might just barge him out of the way. What about playing Tom Wood instead?

We also lack some grunt in the back 3, Wilson should replace Brown.

And Henry Slade isn't big enough either, I think we need to replace Watson with Barritt, so we have a defensive leader on the field to show Slade & Ford where to be at all times

Mako Vunipola at Number 8 would be quite hilarious! Arguably better ball carrier than Billy!

I think Owen Farrell is too small still, maybe stick his dad in there instead of him

Terry Holland, England's strongest man, recently made an appearance in the England vs Rest of the World match for Rugby Aid.

I feel he could be just what England's midfield needs. Certainly Doc Roberts would not look forward to running into his channel.

Could work. I once saw a 7s tournament with a vets side comprised wholly of forwards who used the rolling maul to surprisingly good effect.

Does the wee 9 from Uruguay miss this game because of his red card vs Fiji?

They're going to get owned, he's by far one of their best players.

Yeah this is the sort of situation where the big blow-outs happen. A tier one nation which by all accounts will just have a free reign to attack with nothing more to get out of the game other than putting points on the board, versus a minnow team coming off a reasonably short turnaround, with injuries, suspensions, and the fatigue factor after a tough RWC. This could well be (perhaps should be) the biggest winning margin of the RWC.

Is there any update on who kicks goals for England? Presumably one of the two would have been kicking more goals at practise than the other - would love to know for my fantasy team :)
