2014 Super Rugby: Cheetahs vs Chiefs (Round 8)

Still issues at hooker for me, really missing Craig Clarke in the lineout and around the field.

Time to nail down a starting 15 and look at sticking with the majority of those players, I have no problems with all the changing but this year it is just not as effective as previous seasons.

Our backs are great when we get good ball by the forwards.

Look at the wins/pointsdiff/points columns in the NZ conference then look at the others..... This competition is getting more and more even every year. Who would of seen the Stormers and Crusaders bottom of their conferences? Stormers havent even being playing that bad imo.

Yup for sure, its a much more even comp this year. Big surprise for me is the OZ conference and in particular the Force. It will be interesting to see if the OZ teams can stay consistent for the season though.

Yup, they are definitely missing Craig Clarke. All over the field as well as leadership. A very underestimated player in NZ IMHO.

Yeah he suffered from NZ having an over abundance of world class locks, most countries he would have been a starting lock for sure but we had 2 world class locks above him and a couple just a step above.

Just proves what a waste of time Ali Williams was. If they had Given that position to Clark things might of been different but you never know.

Completely agree, for me he was on par with Luke Romano if not slightly better, combined with his leadership and level head would have made a great 3rd lock option.

If one can argue the Bulls went to sleep last weeks in their game against the Chiefs then the Cheetahs went into a coma this past Saturday..

Just got round to watching the 1st half of the game now and all I can say is that is the worst half of rugby I have seen the Chiefs play in a few years(I missed the force game this year though).

So many mistakes and lapses in concentration, players just standing and looking at the play and not getting involved and all credit to the Cheetahs they played excellent and took full advantage.

I felt tries 2 & 3 to the Cheetahs were not tries based on what I saw.
