2014 Super Rugby: Brumbies vs Chiefs (Round 11)

I don't actually think Walsh has been that bad. I will have to watch the tackle in the air incident again (I only watched it once), but I'm not at all surprised Tikoirotimu was penalised. Jarred Payne was given a red (and suspended for several weeks) for a similar challenge several weeks ago. I'm sure all players should know by now that if a player is in the air you have to be very careful - if you want to compete you need to jump for the ball, otherwise you need to leave the opposition player alone. Tikoirotimu's charge was clumsy rather than deliberate, but was still dangerous....

The difference between this and Payne's is that Payne ran under he player. In this case Tiks was standing still and the player jumped over him.

I will have to watch it again - perhaps I didn't see it properly the 1st time...

Fardy clearly put his hands on the ground there before stealing the ball... Should have been a Chiefs penalty.

Well we know regardless of reality it's not going to be ruled a forward pass.

For the first time I go against the Chiefs and the Brumbies to take this game.
No matter your depth but these constant changes are not god for continuity and sooner or later is going to count against you
yip... this is the reason why NZ never won a RWC for so long...

True. Blatantly forward.

The Aussie commentators are a bunch of morons too. They think it is ok even it was a forward pass (not that they will readily admit it) as it was a good display of skill. Idiots.

Well ****, what an absolute idiot of a TMO. This is ridiculous. I would be very angry if I were Rennie.

Brumbies have been playing the Chiefs halfback off the ball all game. Ruck after ruck they're grabbing Pulu when he's not part of the ruck.

Another try for the Brumbies. Poor defense by Cane and Tikoirotimu. Game over for the Chiefs.

...and another for Kuridrani. Getting embarrassing for the Chiefs now.

IMO this could change the Chiefs season. Could be a really long road for them now. The other NZ sides will smell blood.

Would love it if the broadcaster showed more than one phase for each try. There've been dubious occurrences at both of the rucks before tries and we're not seeing it in the replays.

The Chiefs will be fine once they get Cruden back (and a few more of their injured players). As long as they don't lose too much ground they will be a big threat over the later part of the season...

They need to have enough points to make the finals by that stage though aye. Look at their draw. The Lions is the only gimme. Tahs, Landers the Hurricanes and Blues TWICE those are huge games for every nz side and it will be all on.

Im convinced they wont be heading the NZ conference by the end of that and will actually be lucky to be in the finals going on their current form. Cruden cant stop guys doing idiotic things like dropping the ball and trying to trip opposition players.

and they are Bias!!! but most bias will have to go to bobby skinstad!!! never thought someone will be more bias then Hugh Bladen

I was always under the impression that the 'side of the ruck' was a literal term, and that you couldn't enter from the side of the ruck. Evidently Steve Walsh has his own interpretation.

The breakdowns in general have been a mess. The Chiefs players have been diving off their feet at every breakdown, while the Brumbies players have simply walked around the side....

EDIT: Good try by Weber.

Horrell at 10 now. Could be a sign of things to come. But maybe not ;)

Every so often the Chiefs just get a complete case of the dropsies. Tonight is one of nights.

Chance for a bonus point now? :p
