2014 Six Nations: Ireland vs Wales (Round 2)

Scoreboard is flattering but I'm delighted with that. Coaching team really earning there wages today. Will hopefully have more of a cutting edge in Twickenham with Fitzgerald coming back.

Are we Munster in disguise? Oooooh, are we Munster in disguise? :D

Delighted, great performance.

Nothing could make me happier than seeing that **** Mike Philips having a massive hissy fit.

Other than the line out and handling, there has been little in this and its been one of those games where refereeing decisions, right or wrong have dictated how this game would play out. We had no chance from the off, but Ireland were the ones who had to then implement the game plan to capitalise. They did it very very well. The set piece and with the mauls have been key

I like the opotimism. However in this case totally misplaced, ref was from Limerick its true but still that was pure s***e from our team. We got bossed in all areas

Six more years of this ****.

Yeah, I feel that it was the Welsh coaching panel that's most at fault for this. It wasn't apparent that their game plan wasn't working fairly early on and they had nothing else to offer. Their first substitutes should have seen the likes of James Hooke on, not the props off.

Also, Kearney schooled Halfpenny last year.

Has the Welsh style of Gatland ball finally been completely tamed? time to get back to the drawing board and look at exactly what we are missing from the 2011/12 season. Not good enough

Load of crap. How quickly you have forgotten that everyone was saying English could not blame the ref when Wales beat us 30-3 yet when you are dominated in a similar way it's perfectly ok to blame the ref? Ireland dominated that in every area.

Our **** pack too. Gatland ball never took off, apart from a few years in Europe when everybody else was ****. Oh, and one win against Australia...

Jenkins, Jones, Coombs, Lydiate were nonexistent. Rest of the pack merely seemed along for the ride.

I don't argue with that, discipline was bad and will be the major reason for the nature of the Irish dominance. But it was compounded by the referee's influence. Ireland were impressive, especially in the set piece and maul. Wales played themselves out of the game with their handling errors in dangerous areas.

Welsh punditry playing down the fact Ireland have smashed them , considering the evangelical efforts of how good they are usually.

You mean one person has expressed their belief that it was not as dominant as the scoreline states, and explaining their reasons whilst expressing their impressed thoughts of the winning team? How about not lumping an entire nation's opinion onto one person' ultimately irrelevant thoughts?

Really ****ing happy with that, tactically spot on. POM is really stepping up, hes always had the passion but I questioned his ability but this season hes doing everything and more. Sextons kicking game was as good as i've ever seen. POC definitely made a difference he really leads this team and it was noticeable when he left. Replacement front row dominated, great signs for the future.

I know we will have Luke Fitz, Donnacha Ryan and Bowe will be back but who can you drop after that? Was a critic of Trimble a lot but probably his best game ever in green. Kearney Jr did well too and pack were awesome.
@BG8 I told you not to worry about pom he's just doing what he's been at all year. POC shows how much a weapon his leadership is

This performance by Ireland was very good, but not nearly as dominant as Wales vs England last year. Wales showed much more than they got, but it was still a feeble performance. England had literally nothing in that game.

Dissagre by all means, it's all irrelavent anyway i guess. You're only as good as your last game, and Ireland are on fire. My favourites for the ***le, with a victory against England and narrowly against France.

Wrong person there mm.

I was surprised Wales didn't come storming back like starved carnivores in the second half...that's what they'd typically do. I guess that explains a little more about how Italy got that close last week. Wales are a bit weary it seems, they looked lethargic and like they just flat out weren't interested in parts...

Ireland are at very least extremely focused and energetic. They didn't play magnificent Rugby or anything but methodically got it done against the 2-time champs. 26-3, who'd have thought...and the score does reflect the match perfectly, one really couldn't say Wales deserved more or wtvr, they never looked very threatening and Ireland contained them very well, and consistently.

Overall a pretty boring game, though Ireland played very well, but as a neutral...was expecting a monumental clash with about 5-6 tries..

What I take out of this as a Frenchman is Wales are wounded: good or bad for us next week ? I reckon if Italy got close in MS and Ireland smashed em...France should manage perhaps a narrow victory there.
Ireland look more dangerous than I expected, and I've only now started to respect them as due. God I hope France and Ireland remain unbeaten until the last weekend for that showdown in Paris. And this time, no draw.

All of a sudden, the England Wales match loses quite a bit of its prestige...hopefully Wales bring their A game, coz if not they're in for a spanking. Wales still are in contention for a third straight ***le though, as this is a "standard" defeat on the road to be expected. But now they need to beat Twickenham.

Lets deal with the now, 'one was smashed' was it not ?!?

One of the sweetest and complete irish performances.

Glad I had faith in POM backed him at 13-1 for MOM

Massive game by Ireland, Wales were completely over dominated. I reckon France or Ireland will will the tournament this year.
