2014 Six Nations: France vs England (Round 1)

Have to agree now we have a proper 10, watch out Les Rosbifs, the problem is we are a minority on this forum but you know what happens when a minority wins:
"The wonderful smell of silence and of course a few whinging Poms to boot.

I'm afraid given my history here, (or at least the way some perceive my history here...) I'll have to limit myself with taunting or joking around. English posters, not that you needed a green light, but it's totally cool to tease if France lose :p as long as it's really just that - teasing.

I must extend a certain fear I have. The confidence I had in 2012 when we hosted England is the same I've got today...being sure your side will win, and seeing it not only in difficulty but actually losing, is a very awkward feeling...like something's amiss. I feel I'm in the exact same configuration here...France can be out of rhythm the whole way and give away penalties, one silly try and bam we're down 13. England does have enough class on paper, the pack is all world class: 1st, 2nd and especially 3rd row.

But honestly I'm not teasing much if we win...I feel it's a long time coming, and ALMOST a given we should win this. It sounds over-confident, but I can't help but feel this way...I just really want things to go well, so we can finally start off the year with a smile and good expectations for the rest of the way..

According to Walesonline, Rhodri Jones is Wales' emerging star. Inquisitive LOL? ROFL?

Ours is 'Launchberry.' Yes, spelled like that. Damm you Wales, for everything.

Ha! Who was it who faced merged Launchbury and a rasberry a while back? I feel that photo is required in this situation.

Being keen on reasoned argument:
England will win.
End of.
Good day.

I'm guessing you mean Gillian Galan lol ? Noooo...the guy we picked in the absence of Picamoles in November, Damien Chouly from Clermont.
We'll have 5 third rowers on the team: Burban, Le Roux, Nyanga, Picamoles, Chouly.
Seeing how England is probably going to rock a Robshaw-Wood-Vunipola third row, that's quite weighty. I'm guessing against England we should go Burban-Le Roux-Picamoles, that would make us 113kg on avg. per man. Perhaps we need to match England's physicality simply and not look for any poetic, subtle play up front...then again, I think PSA might want a little more fluid, quick movement from at least one guy, and include Nyanga in the starting lineup since Burban and Picamoles are heavyweights.

No, no. Form. But we'll see what the little man's got yet in reserve this time around.

i personally feel that the new engagement helps the shorter prop's Domingo has still had the upper hand on alot of his opponents this year

Which will be the first row of England in this game? What do u think?

wow, so cool !! love my stats stats stats !!...thanks for posting, pom. Yeah, it's in less than a week, even if we don't feel like it I think it's just mandatory we call each other pom/Saxon and froggie/frenchie from now on...you know, etiquette. Spirit of convivial tradition.

Man, Wales and Italy are *CAPPED*. Italy is just OLD.
Interesting how we're always the lightest. Wales are all fat fks....:p
England have the weightiest pack, France the least, what else is new.

Little bit awkward a non-Pacific commonwealth person using the term "pom"...
It's a little bit like an American calling us "rosbifs".

1. Marler
2. Hartley
3. Cole

Started against the All Blacks. Marler is a better scrummager than Vunipola. Plus it means we can swap the Vunipola brothers at 55 minutes and always have 20 stones of Anglo-Tongan wrecking-ball on the pitch.

Come to think of it, with Attwood, Youngs, M. Vunipola, and Morgan on the bench there's a lot of impact. It was the bench that beat France last year, could well do so again.

Unless we are comfortably in the lead I highly doubt Thomas will come on at all.
Even then It's doubtful - he's simply too much of a risk.

its very worrying there is a good chance cole is holding injurys with the amount games he has played the last year

awkward ? like, did your ballsack retract ? were you cringing a little while reading ?
well I adapt. I didn't even think you were aware of the expression "rosbif". I find it arrogant when people use their own expressions, as if the whole world ought to know. As if ppl are "meant" to know what "rosbif" is. Well if that's what you want, rosbif, let's do that !
