[2014 EOYT] Wales vs New Zealand

Tuned in, saw Wales take a kick for the lead and then, bam! Those last 10/20 minutes... give it to the ABs, they know what to do in the last quarter.

This match to me has proven Barrett is not the answer come the WC semi's. Slade should of started just as I said earlier.

Barrett can tear up from broken play but time and again starting at 10 he fails and fails miserably.

* insert NZ can step up when they need to comment.

* insert they can up the intensity when they need to comment.

* insert Wales played well for 60 comment.

This is going to make the Welsh complex so much deeper. All I can say from having watched minutes 68 to now. For whatever reason...they cannot beat SANZAR nations. They can't.

This score line is a bit flattering now. Some of our play has been really bad, as I type another nothing chip out on the full.

Momentum swung massively as Wales made subs, Webb coming off the biggest loss, and bad luck that North came off too. But I don't understand taking Lydiate off in perhaps the best game I've seen by him in a very long time? And Hibbard? And Biggar? Gatland has a lot to answer for for these subs imo.

Rémy Jobberts got MOTM ?? Goddamn, uhm, I've REALLY REALLY got to watch those first 70...

Game over. Score definitely flattered the AB's in the end.

I thought Wayne Barnes did a fantastic job as referee (I feel all dirty saying that ;) )

So Rhys Webb, the ABs were there for the taking and Halfpenny saying Wales just have to believe in order to win. How about Wales needing to be good enough in all facets of the game in order to win? Just great defence and line speed are not enough to beat the SH sides, let alone the ABs. The 61 years of hurt go on.

Concur with this.

Depth behind Webb is worrying.

I'd just like to say well done to Wales for a brilliant effort for most of the game. Gatland's defense is classic, and we're use to seeing that when he was here in NZ. He is the master of rush defense and it was off putting for a period there. But it is an 80 minute game. That's what some of these teams need to learn. Not 60. Not 79. 80 minutes.

A little concerned about Barrett. Yes sure, his moment of excellence produced a try but prior to that when we didn't have momentum he wasn't really taking very good options imo. Slade actually seems to be the new Barrett in terms of impact off the bench. Piatau did really well, although in terms of ariel skills I still feel Jane may have been stronger in that area. Gotta be happy with the win though. New years resolution for next year, stopping leaving victories until the last 20. One day it may not work.

Harsh. I feel the game would have been a very different story had Webb and North not gone off.

Phillips is terrible. He's so bad. Should have been dumped by the Welsh management years ago.

Should HAVE. And even then You're wrong, Slade isn't the form horse no matter how many times you say it.

Bullcrap who is then!

Slade is by far the best goal kicker out of the 4 of them and he's inform. Cruden is out of form. Carter is past it and Barrett is simply not good enough in tight test matches.

We'll have to wait until next year to see who's better but for me Cruden is the only one if he pulls finger that is a sure starter if he's playin well enough.

Stating the obvious but the final scoreline is very harsh on Wales. Saying that the ABs have been excellent in the second half in this tour.

The number 10 position is going to be a good headache next year. Slade looks to be in excellent form, things seemed to click a lot better when he came on and may have worked himself up the pecking order. Carter is class and if he stays injury free, you know he is going to be very good come next year and Cruden and Barrett have been groomed as the 1st and 2nd choice over the last couple of seasons. Going to be very hard to choose between the four.

At the end of the day Cruden might end up missing out when you consider the fact that the other three can cover at least a couple of positions. All of them need to work on their goal kicking though.

Injuries are part of sport J'Nuh. Welsh players talked a big game before today and they did not deliver the result. Apart from the Webb try, what did Wales create? Nada.

Can't disagree on Phillips though.

Cruden is not out of form. He goal kicked poorly but his general play was very good this tour. Or do you just look at the kicking stats?
