[2014 EOYT] England vs South Africa

What do you know... Farrell goes off and we suddenly find a way to string phases together.

That score would have made the score line more realisitic!!

Is this the poorest SA team that has played at Twickers recently even though they have twacked the dreadful English team?

Hard to see the English beat Wales of Ireland and maybe even the French................

Wales haven't beaten SA for 60 years ? Australia once in 28 and almost 70 years since they beat NZ so I can't really see where you are coming from ?

We need an attack coach, and to not let Farrell Sr. talk to any of our backs in anything other than a defence coach role.
We need to stop playing the favourites and play the form players.

I hope we mix things up against Samoa, next week, but I bet Lancaster will spew some **** about continuity and put out the same old same old.

Has Catt resigned as attack coach?

This team would find it hard to beat Samoa......................

Miles Harrison basically saying, 'Ireland played a crap boks team, England played a fantastic team'. Boks played better today true, but come off it; Ireland at the breakdown nullified RSA completely and England haven't done that whatsoever today.

Ireland didn't let them play and they couldn't counter our plan. I also think Ireland are gone far ahead of England too.

Beat them in 1999 ... not great but a heck of a lot better than 60 odd years!

The Welsh and Irish performances last week were miles ahead of this cr*p from England and I believe they are far and away better at the moment than England.............the records against the SH teams are immaterial, they are far ahead of the NH!!

Time to start with Ford the last two games now, Farrell had an awful game. Handling in the first 20min cost us dearly, very disappointing all round. We miss JL very badly.

Congratulations to all and any Saffas reading, comfortably had the better of it although...

Yeah, probably. That said, we'll have guys back for the 6N, and a lot more confidence, so we can probably still do something against those teams.

Can we beat Australia? That's the big one.

Hard to take anything from these internationals tbh . Wales regularly lose all of these games and win a slam in the six nations . The fact the NH and SH seasons aren't aligned make it hard too . I'm not blaming our loss on that . That's because Lancaster keeps picking Farrell

Can we please try not to turn this into senseless **** posting and trolling, like the NZ thread, please.

I stand corrected, again, but what skills does he teach if not attacking?
No idea, but Farrell Sr. is in charge of our backs, and attack.

I know they were against an extremely weakened Argentina side, but the games last summer with Farrell not on the scene we actually looked to play ball, not just kick it away or one out runners into traffic.

I imagine Farrell will miss the last two games, but I could easily see Myler coming being told to kick the leather off the ball for 160 minutes.

It doesn't happen that way though . There's nothing in it between Ireland, England and Wales imo

New to therugbyforum are you?

Missed most of the first half as I was playing.

I'm really becoming disillusioned with this current England set up now.

There's a lot of talent out there it's just not being managed correctly end of IMO.

Lancaster has built his team around Owen Farrell and with his dad sat next to him in the coaching box doesn't seem to want to look at anyone else. There's no ****ing point having two wingers on the pitch in this current set up may as well have another two forwards on the pitch....

Brown looked more assured today, I thought Barrit also had a good game. Morgan to start over Vunipola for the Samoa and Australia. WE were second best at the breakdown at the top level it is small margins but we're somewhere off.

Really feels like we're going backwards.

South Africa weren't great they were just less bad than us.

England were shocking. I don't know how many chances Farrell needs; he's not got an ounce of football in him. Better when Ford came on, but why is it that the shackles only come off in the last 10 minutes? From playing an expansive game, they seemed to have gone back into their shell. Care's gone backwards as well. They seemed very flat today. The front five were good and the two centres did OK with crap ball and Ben Morgan was good when he came on. As someone else said it's either Wood or Robshaw, but not both.

Lancaster must make changes.
