I don't know the current form of the English players in Prem so can't talk about selection but Tom Wood who's being criticized has very good experience and has been the English 6 by default for a while. That in itself will be criticized surely, but today Lancaster doesn't make Wood take those decisions, Lancaster never asked England to blatantly foul a Saffer on the lineout catch; I don't think it's in the English attacking scheme to be exposed like that on the Care pass intercept and 7 points for free. For Farrell's lackluster play today, I don't have the answers. But I'm saying surely there's a gap between what Lancaster wants and what England have done so far in the 1st half. His discreet head nodding wasn't in bad faith like other coaches - he's really witnessing things he hasn't instilled.
