I'd go with Jackson. Have to pick the form out half really or it means I can start calling Schmidt a biased Kant. Honestly though there's no reason not to pick Jackson. He's looked very good to me. The main issue I had with him last year was his inability to play flat enough to reach the gameline but that hasn't looked an issue from what I have seen. Prefer Madigan as a player because he's more exciting but he hasn't been great.

I don't think so. Like Coughlan, age is against him. McLaughlin is possibly aheah and younger players like Rhys Ruddock, Dom Ryan etc.

I think that unless something drastic happens Dom Ryan doesn't stand much of a chance of getting a look in at the national team. Jordi Murphy has the looks of a lad that would be a good fit in a green jersey though.

Apart from being a bit better defensively I just don't see what D'Arcy brings anymore. Maybe I'm a bit biased but with Sexton and BOD starting Marshall should be in there. R Kearney has also been in very poor form this Autumn. TBH I think when Payne is IQ he will be a lot to the table either at 15 or 13.

I agree with you. Payne is a certainty to be capped once he's qualified. I think Ireland's first string backline in the 2015 World Cup will have a large Ulster feel to it:
Zebo, Bowe, Payne, Marshall, Gilroy, Sexton, Murray

When does Payne officially qualify? I would have thought around next year sometime.

I think it's next November before he's eligible to play for Ireland. While I dislike the 3 year residency rule, Ireland would be foolish to ignore it if a player of Payne's quality becomes available.
