2013 British and Irish Lions

I'm pretty sure we all just blamed ROG!
haha but cmon 22-5 up and lose the game? Really is ROG to be blamed for Lions who looked the best for almost whole match to let South Africa back in with a opportunity to win the game? Do not think so.

Considering ROG single handedly cost 10 points with his pathetic tackle (he only needed to grab and slow the guy down a bit so the cover could get there yet couldn't even do that), and last minute brainfart. I think it's fair to say he cost the match.

If Hook had been on the bench, the Lions would have won for sure.

There was also a blatant red card early on for Burger ruled a yellow. I don't remember any particular whining about the referee to be honest, aside from that incident where it was justified. As Dullonien said, Munster apologists aside, it was genuinely acknowledged that ROG was awful in that match, an utter nightmare.

And in the 1st Test, Monye, Mears and Vickery all had poor games and were all dropped for the 2nd. Again the Lions found their own errors, can't remember much whinging at the ref to be honest.

Yeah like I said the Poms were ****** of about it. Mostly their papers in any case. But that was a brutal test. If you look at what if what if Sheridan was red carded for punching Bekker in the nutsack? Aah you did not think Botha were pushing him around just because he likes to do it didn't you?

This wasn't a red card. I not sure what's going on here, and either side was at each other the whole match. But it does not compare with eye gouging which is one of the worst things you can do on the pitch.

Let me put it this way. That 2nd test was one of the most brutal games of rugby I have watched in some time. It contained everything and was a old school in your face game. Games like that you go around and say this is why Rugby is not for pussies.

Eye gouging is not that bad. Just don't do it before the camera's. And I can assure you Burger did not go do it out of the blue. Someone did something to him which wasn't visible to the camera which made the yellow card fair in my view. But then again we are supporting the different sides so our bias views were going to influence our opinions in a way.

But the really good thing for me was that those same guys went and played together to beat New Zealand in that Barbarians game. You gotta love it! Thats rugby

If the Lions lose the series are we going to hear them pissin on and on over how unlucky they were how bad the referees were and how dirty SA were punching infront the cameras while the Lions did it in a maul or bottom of a ruck?

If its a yes then please Lions fckin win. I can't take pissin of the Poms for another four years. Strangely the Irish and Welsh did not give a fck and just accepted it.
A South African would have to be very dirty to land punches in a match they're not involved in. :p

Eye gouging is not that bad? Eh!!!!

Not that bad. I would take it over a punch in the nutsack over Sheridan anyday.Coming back to the Lions the biggest mistake they made was this
White believes the Lions have done the next best thing though. "By travelling up to Pretoria the day before the game, we have been advised that the effects of altitude won't have chance to kick in," he explained.

So potentially going blind in one eye is better than getting some pain?

Are you P Divvy? "It's a contact sport".

How can you "know" that Burger was provoked?

You would take potentially being blinded over being punched in the balls...

Nice hardman act bro.

An award for the most spitful, bull%$£T waffeling muppet goes to sifplay.
Spitful? Quite a mouthful but I guess you are use to that sort of thing?

Foul play is foul play. Eye gouge punch in the nutsack. Both are foul play. You can't point at one piece and ignore another.

All foul play should be dealt with, some on the field, some off the field. But to try and make out that a punch to the balls is as bad as gouging is just crazy.

How many people were blinded permantly by a eye gouge in professional rugby?
Yeah I thought so
This guy had to have his eye removed (can you get any more permanent than that?):
