If we're being technical we did take control of Buenos Aires for over a month, and killed more Spaniards than British were killed.

Russia really have put on a good show. Obviously not the best team, but they don't give up. Longer this goes on the more disappointed Ireland will be. Not much of an improvement on Japan if at all.

I read this forum a lot, but never post, btw.

I just wanted to say, why don't we leave actual war out of this? Doesn't matter if it happened 200 or 40 years ago, patriotic pride by historical proxy is the dumbest **** ever.

I think the headline doesn't do Creevy's words justice btw. He did say he learned a lot while playing in England, and he specifically qualifies the use of the word "boring", saying "it might be boring sometimes, but it works for them, and I learned a lot from that". He's stating a personal opinion about the brand of Rugby he experienced there. I don't quite agree with it, but it's not particularly inflammatory.

At least not as much as the silly war banter going on here.

Just to satisfy Bushy, I don't think bringing up our past wars and conquests is very smart. We did a lot of horrible things in the past and our wonderful lauded education system completely ignores teaching any of it.

It's also completely irrelevant to current events and rugby.
