Smith was 27 by the time he reached the number of tests that Crotty has played (16)
North unlikely to play again in the series after possible hamstring tear. Question is, who do we call up to replace him. Already have walker and Tom James but we need another. If hanno Dirksen wasn't injured this might have been his time to get a cap. Possibly Steph Evans?

Shame I thought he was superb today. Liam Williams, James, Walker, Amos Being Wales' wing options, what with Anscombe and Mathew Morgan able to cover full back. Maybe call up another centre?
I can't think of Another centre of quality that we could call up, I think Allen is injured and beck isn't exactly amazing. If he's looking for versatility then Ben John can play wing and centre

Anyone else still scratching their head over the English attempting to defend Wayne Barnes here?
Blatant poor performance AGAIN. Clearly doesn't know the rules, clearly disallowed a fine try for absolutely no reason, over ruled the TMO, pathetic again from this man. Yet we got some English blokes on here clearly agitating Kiwi fans further by spouting irrelevant nonsense like this.
What relevance does a comment like this have to excuse Wayne Barnes incompetence at handling that try?

Really appalled at some of the English behavior and comments in this thread directed towards the fair criticism of Wayne Barnes.
Why does this man consistently put in dreadful performances when it comes to officiating an All Black match? It's well beyond the realms of coincidence.
And why do certain English feel so obliged to obnoxiously and embarrassingly defend this man in such an aggressive manner? @Tallshort

The English? World Rugby have decided Barnes has been worth an international refereeing spot for the last 9 years. They don't just throw anyone in; ex-referees are constantly reviewing refereeing performances in order to deem who is worthy of refereeing at the top end.

Man this anti Barnes stuff is rubbish. I think he's become easily one of the best refs in the world. He let's the game flow, and manages the breakdown really well, and he manages the scrum as well as anyone. Fine, it was the wrong call to disallow the try, especially overruling the tmo, but the alternative is a bunch of ref's who genuinely ruin games by their inability of reffing the scrum, breakdown or offside line.
Since we can't have Nigel Owens reffing Wales, Barnes would be up there as my preferred option.

What's a load of sh*t is his continual rubbish displays with the All Blacks. I'm pretty tired of this refusal to acknowledge his dreadful record under us from NH fans.
Regardless of whether he does well in other matches around the world the fact remains he's been absolutely incompetent in our fixtures, one after the other.

Look Barnes clearly doesn't know the forward pass rule: he's missed or misinterpreted at least three big ones he's been ref or linesman.
1. RWC 07 - Traille's? pass to Michelak which led Jauzion's try.

2. RWC 2015 - as an assistant referee/linesman - missed NMS' blatant forward pass to Kaino. Owens missed it as well, but did ask Barnes whether it was forward, but either Barnes didn't answer or said no it was fine.

3. Today's match where he overruled Perenara's try when all he focused on was the forward motion of the ball and not the direction of Cruden's hands when the ball was released.
Apart from that he's a great referee. Honest.
