He's such a weird choice for a bench player. There's already three fullbacks on the pitch, do you really need a fourth on the bench?
Should be someone like Earls (or Fitzgerald, if not starting) covering wing/centre.

Yeah I'm fairly sure Hogg's pass was forward. Hopefully it won't come back to haunt us.
