Not 100% sure. . Its the same with a few other players, and theyre not listed as unavailable or injured. Im guessing hes just not being picked by the coach. Same with Max Clark, not sure if hes injured or not. Hes generally been picked when fit though

Yeah i think thats exactly it. Hes not being picked because he wants to leave and he needs to stay until the end of season to be JIF qualified for life apparently.

Coetzee is more likely to be surplus to requirements than Barbeary - but when off contract, it's not always about what the club wants.
TBH, if only losing 1, then I'd prefer to not replace, and to trust Green & Reid (& Bayliss).
If losing both JC and AB, then yeah, we'd probably need a new signing at 8.


As for Coetzee's injury - I have a personal suspicion that we had bed news about his ACL recovery (no news since April, IIRC), and jumped in to interfere with the Sharks => Sharks transfer - we can be opportunistic, but tend to plan recruitment well under JvG

Sale after more Chiefs old players? You had jonny Hill and LCD and now Francis? No but on a serious note good players solid scrum and props can go well into their 30s solid signing.

I'd take Abuladze back tbh we have some decent front rowers and a solid Georgian scrummager isnt a waste.

Will Butt is a pretty good player tbh and will likely get some good gametime at Chiefs next season, though hopfully we put that Ikitau money to good use at 10.

Wonder who goes where? For the money it would cost i think Mostert would be a good signing for Chiefs. With Tuima going i big SA player is useful.
