There’s a lot I like about this team - I was hoping Rowland would get the nod at fullback and it’s great to see Aldcroft back on schedule, but most of all I’m really pleased to see Aitchison starting at 10, the back line just looks so much more coherent when she’s running it.
It’s a shame, though maybe not a surprise, that Botts isn’t ready, hoping she’s good for next week.
I don’t quite understand the reasoning for benching Abbie Ward, maybe it’s just managing her minutes but I do think she’s our strongest lock.

Glad Aldcroft is back. Looking forward to seeing what we've learned from the first 20 against Aus because Scotland are on a high

I don't think any of the top 3 have looked particularly good by their own standards.
My worry for England is that we've mostly been making teams to death - which is A] not very spectacular (see 9215's point in the 1-sifed thread) and B] a bit one-track.
Yes, our back 4 have scored some tries, mostly from further out, but that looks like it's because they're individually brilliant, rather than because of systems and gameplan. I'd also add that we're making far too many handling and unforced errors, stuff you can't get away with against better teams (so have Canada and NZ, but to a lesser extent)

Now, there's an element of "okay, so you know what's coming, now try to stop it" about all of that, but I do worry that when we come up a team who can stop it, we run out of ideas.

Canada can probably match our power game, but I'm not sure they can handle our backs, if we choose to use them.
NZ probably can't match our power game, but they can refuse to play that game, not let it affect their mentality, and go around us (a bit like NZ v SA in men's rugby).

IMO France have actually found a higher gear than anyone else in the top 4 - showing a ruthlessness they don't usually against SA. England should swat Scotland aside with ease, but I want us to tighten up and show a bit more before we face up against France. If England play France the way those 2 played Aus and SA, then France might actually pull our pants down.

Here's hoping that Holly at FH can bring the control, and the backs, more into the game, and offer some variety and calmness.

I might be putting too much onto one player’s shoulders but I really think she can. Our backs looked fantastic throughout 23&24 when she running things and I think the Scotland match was the best of this year’s 6N, and the only one where she wore 10.

Im a few minutes behind, but Aurelie just missed Scotland hurdling a tackler, then a knock on my Breach (who was set to chase a kick, not received a pass).

Presumably that's the KO Al mentions above

Given that the lifters were never in front of the catcher - I really don't get it.
I've had it explained to me, I can't remember the explanation, but can remember remaining confused
Same I think I have to and tried to find it but nothing really clicks in my mind, like as you say if the catcher is nearest the try line what’s the problem then not beyond and being obstructed by the lifters is usually the issue and the term ripper I’ll be honest until recently I’ve never heard it used in this context.
